In November 2004, Arredondo released her second album, Not Going Under. This was the first album to have videos from the singles, as Arredondo did not produce any videos for her first album.
After Arredondo released her album, Min Jul (My christmas) (some tracks produced and arranged by Jon Lord of Deep Purple), she made some shows and then took a break.
Arredondo was among other contributions of singers like Marit Larsen in the song "For a Friend" and Marion Raven in the song "That Day", Both members of the defunct band M2M.
Arredondo's three albums have combined sales of over 150,000.
On 12 November 2007, she released her first album in two years, For A Moment. The first single from this album, "Brief and Beautiful" became a monster-hit throughout the fall. "Brief and Beautiful" was written by Hanne Sørvaag and Harry Sommerdahl, and a Spanish-language adaptation of this song called "Fue para los dos" was released earlier in 2007 by Spanish singer Edurne.
Her fourth album was met with mixed reviews. On the album, "Even when you're with me" is a cover of the Spanish singer Chenoa's "Me Enamoro Del Dolor", and "If You Could Only See Me" was originally recorded by another Norwegian artist called Ina.
In the fall of 2007, it was also announced that Arredondo will star as Maria Von Trapp in the Sound of Music, which went to be a major production in Norway - premiering in the fall of 2008. This was the first major production of the Sound of Music in Norway in about 20 years (Sissel Kyrkjebø played the part as Maria Von Trapp back then).
Arredondo entered the qualifying rounds of the Melodi Grand Prix 2010 (the Norwegian selection process for the Eurovision Song Contest) on 16 January 2010 and was voted through to the national final, with the song "The Touch", which is written by Rolf Løvland.
Today,/2013) Maria works (beside her singing career) 20% in Heggedal church, Asker.

Brief And Beautiful
Maria Arredondo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Only had a little taste
But I remember how it felt
And all the phonecalls late at night
Though we tried, we couldn't make it right
When the seasons changed
Everyone could hear, our illusion crush
It was all we had
[chorus]
So every minute that I've spend with you
Like the winter, is bringing the blues
You and I were like the spring
Brief and beautiful
when we knew we had to let it go
And our love turned in to snow
We never had a chance to begin
Brief and beautiful
So....
Brief and beautiful
So....
[verse]
When flowers bloom in may
I go back to yesterday
When I woke up next to you
I would bring it all back if I could
make it good or bad
I know it is too late
So I'm movin'on
But I won't forget
All that is unsaid
[chorus]
it was so short(?)
It was so sweet
Like every good thing
It's not yours to keep
oh, things fades away
And now its gone
[chorus]x2
The song "Brief and Beautiful" by Maria Arredondo is a heart-wrenching melody about a short yet beautiful love affair. The singer starts by saying that although she only had a little taste of love, she remembers how it felt. She recalls all the late-night phone calls, but despite their efforts, their love couldn't survive. The seasons changed, and so did everything between them, leaving their love an illusion that was crushed. The only thing remaining between them was the warmth of the memories of their brief love affair.
The chorus speaks of how every minute spent together feels like winter, bringing the blues. Their love was brief yet beautiful and like the spring, which goes away quickly, their love was not destined for this world. They both knew they had to let it go, and their love turned into an icy winter where everything turned to snow, giving them no chance to begin again. The second verse speaks of how the singer goes back to yesterday when flowers bloom in May, and she remembers waking up next to the person she loved. Now that it's all gone, she wants to bring it all back, but it's too late.
Overall, "Brief and Beautiful" is not just about a love affair that didn't last long but also a reminder that anything in this world can give us joy, but nothing is ours to keep forever. Time fades away everything we have, even the good things. It's a melancholic melody revealing the beauty in the pain of love and the fleeting nature of life.
