Abraçei o mar
Abraçei o mar na lua cheia, abraçei
Abraçei o mar
Escolhi melhor os pensamentos, pensei
Abraçei o mar
É festa no céu é lua cheia, sonhei
Abraçei o mar
E nada pediu, cantou pra o mar (e nada pediu)
Conversou com mar (e nada pediu)
E o dia sorriu
Uma dúzia de rosas, cheiro de alfazema
Presente eu fui levar
Nada pedi, entreguei ao mar (e nada pedi)
Me molhei no mar (e nada pedi) só agradeci
Abraçei o mar na lua cheia
Abraçei o mar
Abraçei o mar na lua cheia, abraçei
Abraçei o mar
Escolhi melhor os pensamentos, pensei
Abraçei o mar
É festa no céu é lua cheia, EU sonhei
Abraçei o mar
E na hora marcada dona alvorada chegou para se banhar
E nada pediu, cantou pra o mar (e nada pediu)
Conversou com mar (e nada pediu)
E o dia sorriu
Uma dúzia de rosas, cheiro de alfazema
Presente eu fui levar
E nada pedi, entreguei ao mar (e nada pedi)
Me molhei no mar (e nada pedi) só agradeci
Abraçei o mar na lua cheia
The lyrics of Maria Bethânia's "Agradecer e Abraçar" convey a deep sense of gratitude towards the ocean, nature, and life itself. The repetition of the phrase "Abraçei o mar" (I hugged the sea) throughout the song reinforces the idea of embracing and surrendering to the beauty and power of the ocean, which can also be seen as a metaphor for embracing the flow of life. The singer also mentions how she consciously chooses to have better thoughts and intentions, indicating a shift towards a more positive mindset.
The lyrics also mention the presence of the full moon and how it inspires dreams and hope, leading to a sense of celebration and joy. The arrival of dawn is also celebrated as a moment of renewal, where the singer witnesses the natural world unfolding in harmony with itself, as the ocean and the sunrise create a sense of peace and awe.
Overall, the song encourages us to be present in the moment, to appreciate the gifts of nature, and to cultivate a sense of gratitude that can bring joy and meaning to our lives.

Essa mulher me arrebata a cada aparição. Meu Deus num Brasil esquartejado, estuprado, dilacerado, idiotizado e vendido, ouvir Bethânia é acreditar que somos universais.
