Burn
Maria Brink Lyrics

The beginning through the end
There's nothing left to fear now
So watch me close as once again you
Burn me alive
Set me on fire and watch me die
Burn me alive
There's no reason to cry now
There's nothing to forgive (Nothing to forgive)
This suffering's my blessing (My blessing)
The death of sin is how I live so
Burn me alive
Set me on fire and watch me die
Burn me alive
Watch me resurrect right before your eyes
(Set me on fire and watch me burn
Set me on fire and watch me...)
Burn me alive
Set me on fire (Set me on fire!)
And watch me die
Burn me alive
Watch me resurrect (Watch me die!)
Right before your eyes
The lyrics of Maria Brink's song "Burn" suggests a cathartic release of pain, anger, and guilt through physical destruction. It conveys a sense of rebirth after being consumed by fire. In the first few lines "I feel this is the beginning, the beginning through the end," the singer is acknowledging that reaching the end is a necessary part of the process of moving forward. There is no longer anything to be afraid of, and the only thing to do is to allow the flames to engulf and purify, leaving behind a reborn self.
The singer then sings, "There's no reason to cry now, there's nothing to forgive," implying that this rebirth has been facilitated by accepting past mistakes and finding peace within them. The suffering endured along the way has transformed into a blessing, and the singer finds herself living through the death of her sins. In the chorus, the singer asks to be set on fire and to die as the ultimate sacrifice for rebirth, to burn alive and resurrect once again.
Overall, "Burn" is an empowering and transformative song that follows the journey of a rebirth through destruction. It's a cathartic release of pain and a declaration of strength, asking the listeners to embrace their flaws and find peace, knowing their mistakes do not define them.
