Marina has also released two solo albums. Her first CD, decembergirl, released in December of 2000, features her rendition of the October Project single Return To Me, which received airplay across the U.S. and went to #1 on alternative station WBER in Rochester. This same track is also featured in the independent film, “The Adulterer,” and is the closing credit music for “Spirit of St. Paul’s,” a documentary video about the September 11th attacks on The World Trade Center and their aftermath.
In 2003, Marina released one sky, an instrumental album written, arranged and produced by her in collaboration with producer/performer/composers Randy Crafton and Chris Cunningham. Featuring an array of acoustic instruments including woodwinds, string quartet, guitar and percussion, the CD is a collection of ten original compositions with Marina adding keyboards (solo piano on “A Way Home”) and vocal textures on several tracks.

I have not heard Ms. Belica's version of this song in many years. But with today being the first day of Advent, I thought of it while half asleep and enjoying the company of Johnny Walker on a flight home from Thanksgiving with my wife's family. The "December Girl" and the "November Project" albums helped get me through the long Lent and seemingly endless Advent of my life, especially after 9/11, a career change that got me out of NYC, and ending things with my college sweetheart. I can't recommend those albums enough, especially in this time of reflection and renewal.
