Marion Elise Ravn (International artist name: Marion Raven) is a Norwegian rock singer and musician. She was born on May 25, 1984, in Lørenskog, a suburb of Oslo, Norway . She was formerly part of the duo M2M, along with Marit Larsen. After M2M broke up in September 2002, Atlantic Records offered Marion a million-dollar recording contract with Atlantic Records.
Marion’s first solo album Here I Am was released in the spring of 2005. The album was released in Southeast Asia on June 8, 2005. European and U.S. releases followed in early 2006. Marion is said to have written all of the albums tracks herself, except one. She also plays guitar and the piano. The first single will be “Break You,” which will be released to radio in Japan on April 25, 2005, along with the video, and commercially May 23. The track “End of Me” will also be released in Southeast Asia. Marion made the video for “Break You” and the title track, “Here I Am,” on March 28, 2005. The videos were shot in Los Angeles by director Brett Simon.
The solo effort displayed a more mature rock songbird who veered aside from the bubblegum pop image cultivated by Atlantic Records for M2M. “Here I Am” shows Marion collaborating with veteran producers Max Martin and Rami, Jimmy Harry, and collaborations with Nikki Sixx from Mötley Crüe for the song “Heads Will Roll” and rock band Everclear on the song “At The End of the Day.” The album mostly chronicles Marion’s heartbreak and finding her true identity in an ever-changing pop landscape.
The videos for “End of Me” and “Break You” are already getting massive rotation on MTV Asia, and the songs are already in the Top Ten of many radio charts in Asia and Norway.
Throughout the months of April, May, and June 2005, there was a lot of confusion about the release date of her album in certain countries. A later-than-expected release date has been set for Mexico and Australia. Norway and Sweden released the album on August 10, 2005. The album was well received in Asia, with Marion touring different clubs during June and July in the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and other Asian countries. Atlantic Records expressed interest in releasing “Here I Am” in the US sometime in 2006.
A mere 3 months postrelease, the album had sold more than 135,000 copies in Asia. In 2005, Marion recorded a track for the upcoming Hollywood film Taking Charge. The song “‘October” will appear on the movie soundtrack later in the fall of 2005.
In 2006, Marion dueted with Meat Loaf on his album “Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose” for the track “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” (which had been a hit for Celine Dion in the mid-90s). The album was released October 31, 2006.

Marion Ravn Lyrics

And there was nothing I could do
It belongs to you
It belongs to you now
(Chorus)
Let's run away
And leave it all
I live for this mistake
Let's go today
With you I'll fall
What a Scandal we will be
But you can handle me
Haven't you heard?
What a Scandal it will be
Like a fool in bright daylight I lost my way
Now there is only one thing true
I follow you
I follow you now
(Chorus)
Can you handle me?
I'm not gonna break
I live for this mistake
Let's run away
And leave it all
What a Scandal it will be
But you can handle me
(Chorus)
The lyrics of Marion Ravn's song "Scandal" speaks about a love story that is not conventional and may be frowned upon by society. The song compares love to a scandal, something that is seen as a shameful act, but the singer seems to revel in it. The first verse uses imagery of a thief in the black night stealing someone's heart. The singer feels powerless to resist this love and their heart now belongs to the person they love. The chorus speaks about running away with the person they love and making a mess, living for the mistakes they will make together. They embrace the scandal and are willing to be handled. The second verse speaks about following the person they love like a fool in bright daylight, indicating that everyone can see their love clearly but they still follow them anyway.
The lyrics seem to suggest that the singer is in an unconventional relationship that is frowned upon by society. However, they feel that their love is worth it, even if it means being labeled as scandalous. The song celebrates the idea of taking risks for love and not being afraid of judgment.
