Dream Machine
Mark Farina (feat. Sean Hayes) Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What you thinking of?
Man, what you doing?
What you think you can do?
What you are
What you do
Looking out at ripples on the dance floor
Yeah, what you mean iss what you get
Did you forget to know what the end is?
To begin clearing
Looking out at ripples on the dance floor

Dream machine
Did you get everything you asked for?
Dream machine
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor

Dance floor, the dance floor
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor
The dance floor, the dance floor

Love's rage, broken page
Electric lights and glass bone nights
Electric lines run through your minds
Distractions with radio contraptions
Pipe ashes, night glasses
Tick tock, hear the wind lick the window
Ignited, you're invited
Growing, sprouting from the backbone

Dream machine
Mr. Jones, you don't know what you came for
Dream machine
Rattlesnake a charm on the dance floor

The dance floor, the dance floor
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor
The dance floor, the dance floor

Dream machine
Dream machine

We are like those two mirrors
Steaming in the rain
Oh we are those two lovers
Holding each other's hands

Dream with me
Dream with me
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor

The dance floor, the dance floor
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor
The dance floor, the dance floor
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor

The dance floor, the dance floor
Rattlesnake, a charm on the dance floor
The dance floor, the dance floor

What you thinking of?
What you doing?
What you think you can do?

What you are what you do
Looking out at ripples on the dance floor

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Dream Machine" by Mark Farina capture the essence of a party, with an emphasis on the dance floor. The song is about being fully alive in the moment and taking advantage of the power of music to transport you to another place. The verses reflect the experience of being at a party, watching the people around you and soaking in the atmosphere. The chorus, "Dream machine, did you get everything you asked for?" speaks to the idea of using music as a transformative tool to manifest your dreams.

The song's bridge brings in some poetic imagery, describing broken pages and electric lights. These lines serve to deepen the song's meaning and show that there is more going on beneath the surface than just a party atmosphere. The use of the phrase "dream machine" throughout the song is a nod to the power of music to transport and transform us.

@@hugomachado1397 Polyphony Digital has always known how to pick the most killer tracks like this when producing GT.. That's why all their games feel timeless.. Sport will be no exception..

This song absolutely underlines all of GT Sports "airy, artsy and open" feel better than possibly any other track in the game in my opinion, It will make Sport feel beautiful and modern for years to come..
