Potential
Mark and the Gist Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What's up?
Name, Mark Edmond, what's yours?
Told me what her name was, but shall remain nameless
There was nobody around, it was just us
Next thing you know, we was talking for a bit
I must admit, I was crazy about her scent
To me, a Goddess, clearly heaven sent
What I was thinking then and there, might as well have repent
Caught her laughing, think I didn't notice?
Playing hard to get, well I accept the challenge
So, we proceed with the chit chatter
All over the place, with the subject matter
Talking about, her new endeavor
Seem like she got a good head, on her shoulders
Asking me about my ruling passion
Nothing off limits, answered every question
Once uh
Once my last relationship was over
I remember thinking I was gonna be single forever
Then, one thing led to another
Everyday, us getting closer and closer
Hard to find, love is a risk every time
But, despite current circumstances
Ended up taking my chances
Your body got me high, I'm talking elevators
What a clever way to introduce me to your neighbors
Laying up with you, baby, I could've been a Raptor
Slam dunk in that pussy, thought I was Vince Carter
Been rocking for a while now
Share the same sense of humor, make each other smile
Brought me the peace that I was looking for
I let time tell, at first I wasn't sure
Thoughts, I couldn't ignore
Understood my reservations, due to past relations
Letting my guard down, thank you for your patience
Big on loyalty
No matter what, never have the urge to cheat
Agree to disagree, respectfully
Never call you out your name
We all got a past, but I love who you became
Still, we push each other
To go even further

Can't wait either, to start planning our future
Mark Edmond, if you didn't know
