My Little One
Marmalade Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She knows, she grows, she likes the hours
With a little bit of loving from her mother
My little one, she never bothers
About the things that worry you and me She sings this little song that floats along
It's quite a song
And know she's gonna be as free as yesterday
And I know in my mind it's gonna be that way Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away My little one you must be tired
With all the fun and games you had today
I lye awake and dream about you
And what you'll be when you're as old as me She sings this little song that floats along
It's quite a song
And know she's gonna be as free as yesterday
And I know in my mind it's gonna be that way Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day

This is the way she blows the cares away Do I, do IDo I, dub da day
This is the way she blows the cares away

I bought this single when it came out. The B-side is great too. There is a lovely live version of it on YouTube by Dean Ford with just him on acoustic guitar playing it to his daughter Tracy at her wedding.

Nosso bom e velho Terry! Saudades.

I just love this song. How lucky is Dean's daughter to have such a clever Dad. He writes some amazing songs and then goes on to sing them beautifully. One of my all time favourites and I can't singing it once I have listened to it. Ace Dean.
