Full Focus
Matduke Lyrics

We have lyrics for these tracks by Matduke:

Bloodlip Our boots hit the ground and They scatter away They fall all…
Like This I've been talking in my sleep Been running deep, looking for…
Rock the House Rock the House Rock the House Rock the House Rock the House …
Shivers Now you′re standing close to me I feel your body shiver It's…

After my last two relaxing reviews, I was beginning to grow slightly tired. So relaxing (not a bad thing at all). For some reason, I decided to do one more song before shutting off the computer and crawling into bed. That brings us to the first drumstep release, "Full Focus" by Noisestorm. And let me tell you, right now, I'm wide awake.

Before I begin reviewing this song, I should probably give my opinion on drumstep as a whole. Personally, I think it's a great fusion between two great genres: DnB and dubstep. What makes this so great is that it takes all of my favorite parts of these two genres and blends them together to make something amazing. Even better, this genre typically leaves out the few negative things I have to say about said genres. So yeah. Drumstep is a pretty awesome genre.

Immediately this song drops you in with a great developing bass and a nice beat. Seconds later, the beat takes a break and we're introduced to a nice melody. Seconds after that, Noisestorm reintroduces us to the beat and leads into a nice drop that has some nice frequencies and a wonderful constant varied beat.

The song then switches back and forth between this drop and the melody for some time, forcing those who want to dance to it to keep on their toes. This is some very interesting musical development as it solidly introduces both sections of the song without it seeming repetitive. At 1:40 the song gives its full attention (or should I say "Full Focus") to the melody. Even though it's basically the same melody on repeat the bass and beat around it seem to have grown a stable connection over the past two minutes, allowing the repetitive melody to become an amazing build up back into the drop.

The song once again alternates between the two sections never giving one section too much or too little attention. After a bit of this, the song ends with just the beat and the bass as it fades out.

So overall, this is a good introduction to drumstep. Looking forward to reviewing more of this genre.
