What a novel take on the infamous "jump off the Yoshi" trick. Now it feels like it's... almost noble, whereas before it always seemed like a really rude thing to do.

If it makes you feel any better, Yoshi transforms into an egg and teleports himself to safety, as seen in SMG2.

This is, in my opinion, the best BitF comic ever made. It is heartfelt, and relatable. I have lost pets before, and this comic really spoke to me. I have seen this many times before, and it still is just as powerful as when I first watched it.

Ugh I just cry like a water faucet when I listen to this. I can’t even show it to friends, I’d be embarrassed by my waterworks. I don’t know why this speaks to me so intensely, but this (and everything else he’s done) has made me such a loyal fan of Matthew Taranto. Best webcomic artist of all-time, as far as I’m concerned; and brilliant artist as a whole. I remember before BitF started, seeing a GameFAQs post by him in 2008 asking if these comics seemed funny to people. It’s been a long journey for me since then, and I’m glad his work has been a part of it.

After watching this, i completely regret myself from dropping Yoshi down a pit. He's the one who kept giving you rides, cared for you as a baby, and even going out of their way to reunite Mario and Luigi in Yoshi's island.

Seeing the amount of people that were literally brought to tears by this moving video, I think there's a reassuring side to this, even if this won't ever be an easy thing. You were able to pour out your emotions in such a way that it's instantly empathizing. Anyone can clearly see the love that went into not only this video, but the relationship it pictures. Thank you for exposing a more human side to companionship, instead of a more unequal approach. I think that's what consolidated this beautiful piece.

I hate it when people call Mario animal abuser because he uses Yoshi as an extra jump. It's your own choice to jump off him, and he would die either way.

For one, Yoshi's head moves backwards long before Mario's fist gets any number of pixels away from his head. 2, you can see Mario's finger pointing when he does so and Yoshi looking at Mario's finger. 3, Yoshi's head obscures some of the pixels of Mario's fist, implying that Mario's fist is behind Yoshi's head.

Mario isn't punching Yoshi. He's pointing at what he wants Yoshi to eat, and Yoshi is looking up and responding.

I decided to watch the original after seeing Jeremy Chung's rendition of it, and I had overall the same reaction, but the message at the end really hit me like a truck. I lost my cat last year and it still hurts so much 💔

This one never fails to get me. I've seen it before, so many times, yet here I am, crying about my dogs yet again. I lost one 10 years ago, she ate something she shouldn't have and had to be put down. The other, two years ago, just before Quarentine went into full swing. He died of old age. The two of them were of the same litter.

Definitely the best take on the Yoshi jump trick, if you ask me. That aside though... sigh.
You know, we just had to put down one of our three dogs yesterday, and it hit hard for me especially since the dog in question just to happened to be my favorite of the bunch. I never read this webcomic from the start but I remembered going through it last year and took me a month to read everything up to the start of Jan. 2014. Now this comic is coming to an end. Oh God, the feelings in some of these comics never fail to give me goosebumps, making me sob on the inside, it's as if I've known this series for years despite discovering it only a year ago. But anyway, thanks for the memories as well.

This is the very first thing from Brawl in the Family (besides Ice World) that I have ever seen. It's so heartwarming, and... the feels though! This gave me the chills but in a good way. Honestly, until the "And when you're lonely" part, I thought it was just one of those parodies where Mario is just a jerk to Yoshi. However, I thought wrong, and this is one of the best videos I have ever seen. My subscription earned!

This is why I never ditch yoshi. I always take losing a life over saying bye to the best equivalent of a dog that isn't a cat. Yoshi is a part of Mario. Not just a friend, not a pet, a brother akin to Luigi, more than a trusty steed. Yoshi is more. He is a living reminder of loyalty. And that's why he stays in our hearts, just like this comic itself.
