Maurette's first CD, How I Feel, was released in 1998 on Verity Records. This CD featured the radio friendly, "Breaking of Day." For this work, she received the Stellar Award for Best New Artist in 2000.
Her second CD, By His Grace, was released in 2002 on AIR Records, and featured her popular rendition of the praise and worship anthem, "I Just Want to Praise You." This CD, as well, received a Gospel Music Workshop of America Gospel Excellence Award and two Stellar Award nominations. She was also nominated for a Dove Award for her participation in a remake of the Donnie McClurkin classic, "Stand," featuring Marvin Sapp, Daryl Coley, and Helen Baylor.
Maurette's latest CD, entitled The Dream was released on Malaco Records in March 2007, and features the soon-to-be praise and worship anthem, One God. One God spent over 36 weeks in the top ten on Radio and Records and Billboard Gospel Singles charts. Currently, It Aint Over (Until God Says its Over) is enjoying similar chart topping success. In addition, the video for It Aint Over is being shown on the Gospel Music Channel, the WORD Network, BET and BETJ.
The Dream is Maurette's very first live concert recording and it truly captures the essence of her heart for God. For this effort, she was awarded the 2008 Stellar Award for Praise and Worship CD of the Year. Her daughter Jada received the 2008 Stellar Award for Children's Performance of the Year for her song, "I am what God says I am", also featured on The Dream.
Not one to be limited, you can hear Maurette's co-production work on the theme song, "Down in the Hole," for HBO's The Wire (Season 4), which is available on The Wire soundtrack CD in stores now.
She happily maintains her status as a member of Richard Smallwood's choir, Vision.
This singer/songwriter/producer/ musician/wife and mom knows that with God, nothing is impossible and her life and music are a testimony to that fact.

I was thinking about quiting my job today I work in a shelter for women and children and sometime it seems no matter what i do to try and help these women with their problems and issues but still come up on stumbling blocks and issues, i feel like giving up. But God spoke to me this morning and said "Good Samaritan it ain't over"!!!!! so it ain't over.

What a mighty God we serve. We are living in some really tough times. But baby girl God is here sugars. He knows our hearts, our fears, our pains, our sufferings. He hears our prayers. I have a testimony to tell you. I was driving my 18 wheeler, on my way from USA 🇺🇸 to Quebec Canada 🇨🇦. Along New York interstate i-86 I was pulled over by the state police for a D.O.T inspection. After the officer completed the inspection I remember her telling me the Pilot truck stop wasn't far it was like 12 miles or so up the hwy. I was in my truck putting my papers back into their folder before I began my trip. And suddenly I fell over and was sweating . It was the worst fear of my life. The officer didn't know I was facing troubles inside the cab. And they had alrdy left the location. I managed to get up and make it to the front I opened the door trying to flag someone down to help me..but nobody came. No one would stop. So I decided to head to the Pilot truck stop and parked my truck and called for ambulance. I was carried to the hospital from there. I was soo scared I thought it was over I'd never drive again or walk again. When I arrived at the hospital they asked me questions and filled out paperwork on me and admitted me to the e.r. the nurse seen me and I was crying my eyes out. Cuz I didn't know what just happened to me. She was so gentle with me and said everything gonna be ok. They put me into a room and ran some tests on me and I found out what my issues was and they began to give me physical therapy later on that afternoon that Thursday until Saturday afternoon. Then on Sunday they released me and I was taken to a hotel where someone was gonna come and get me from there. I prayed 3 days asking God to help me.. I can't go down like this. I have my whole life in. Front of me. This can't be the end for me. I told God I knew He can heal my back I told him I believe it with all my heart. That Sunday I slowly got up out of bed and reached for that Bible I was gonna begin reading it. At that moment.. I felt my back slide back to where it belongs. I look up 😳😲 and I said God??? 😮 did you just heal my back??😜 I didn't want to disturb what just happened. I began rejoicing in the Lord. I was able to walk again. He healed my back and I've been good since then. God is with us aways. I refrain from listening to too much secular music. I try to just stay focused on things of the Lord including TV radio. I stay tuned with news events but I try to keep that small. But God never fails ever. He listens He answers prayers.. we just need to be watching and listening to that voice. He shows up when we least expect it.. but believe me, HE is always on time.
This really helps me with my relationship with The Lord and helps me stay focused on Him. Thank you for all you do.. I know it seems like life is trying your patience. We all feel like giving up from time to time. But just know that God has given you a purpose to serve others. And with a little encouragement you have a wonderful gift.
I don't know if this will help you. But I've ran across this unshackled audio series from Chicago Illinois.
You can look them up on Google or YouTube. They too help the needy and give them fresh clothes and offer the gospel to them and teach them the word of the Lord.and give them fresh hot meals. And a safe place to sleep. I listen to their stories all the time. Yeah people come from all walks of life some are badly abused. But when they come to the mission, they see the Love of God as soon as they walk in the door where they are loved. Check out unshackled on YouTube. You'll see what I mean.. I pray it will encourage your steps and give you hope for tmrw. Knowing your have a wonderful gift and with a little encouragement. I believe God can help you help them. There's also another I like to watch is Living Waters with Ray Comfort. He is a very warm and gentle soul and He is very good with communicating the gospel to others so that they might receive the Word of the Lord with Love and gentleness. Check out Living Waters also. The videos are short maybe 20 minutes tops. But the conversation is direct and thorough and to the point. He's a gentle guy and has a wonderful way to explain the gospel without judging anyone using the 10 commandments
