Time Machine
Max Parker Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The regret that came when I had made those choices
It killed me but I came back to my place to my space where I should be
But will it help me grow and stay strong
Or will it die and move along, oh oh
Is this my future self, did I do it right
I wanna know so bad, so I can sleep at night
But there ain’t no right, there ain’t no wrong
No one said life was fair
I wish I had a time machine to take me there
The risk and the work that goes into making history
It’s not easy but I have drive and soul, for the passion that I carry
But will it help me grow and stay strong
Or will it die and move along, oh oh
Is this my future self, did I do it right
I wanna know so bad, so I can sleep at night
But there ain’t no right, there ain’t no wrong
No one said life was fair
I wish I had a time machine to take me there
Is this my future self, did I do it right
I wanna know so bad, so I can sleep at night
But there ain’t no right, there ain’t no wrong

No one said life was fair
I wish I had a time machine to take me there

Overall Meaning

In Max Parker's song "Time Machine," we hear the singer reflecting on the past and the regret he feels over certain choices he has made. He longs to have a time machine so that he can go back and make different decisions. The repetition of the line "Is this my future self, did I do it right?" indicates that he is obsessively thinking about how his past actions may impact his future. Despite his longing for a time machine, he acknowledges that there is no right or wrong in life and that it's not fair. He is searching for closure and the ability to move on from his mistakes.

The line "The risk and the work that goes into making history" suggests that the singer is someone who wants to make a lasting impact in the world, but he is struggling with the fear of making the wrong choices. He wants to make sure that he is on the right path towards achieving his goals, but he is uncertain if he's doing things correctly. The internal conflict we hear in this song is relatable to many people who have experienced regret and uncertainty about their past decisions.

Overall, "Time Machine" is a beautifully written and heartfelt song that explores the desire for closure and the fear of making mistakes. It highlights the importance of reflecting on the past and learning from mistakes to move forward towards a brighter future.

Max, Out of the Blue is really good, but this song touched me. Great melody and flow. I personally like it when you make your own songs rather then cover, because there is more emotion. This just my opinion though. Good job bud this songs perfect.
