Born in Cidade Tiradentes, on the outskirts of São Paulo, she ventured into funk parties as the only female MC. Despite not having studied music, Thais began to compose only by observing other songs, soon resulting in an amateur recording being disseminated in Cidade Tiradentes through his late brother Douglas. At the age of 15, Thais composed a track and was encouraged by a friend to record it. Through this, she began to perform at events in the periphery. Tha entered a journalism degree at age 18 and eventually put music aside to focus on her studies and social and cultural projects. Thais was encouraged to return to singing by Jaloo, with whom she shared a house at the time and became a close friend.
In November 2014, Tha independently released her first official single, "Olha Quem Chega", produced by Jaloo. Almost two years later, in August 2016, she released "Pra Você" through the record label Funk na Caixa. Produced by Omulu and King Doudou, the song "Bonde da Pantera" was released as Tha's third single on October 20, 2017. In 2018, the singer released the song "Valente", shared authorship with Jaloo on the track "Céu Azul ", and released an extended play featuring acoustic versions of its four singles. Versions, as the EP was titled, was produced by Pedrowl.
In January 2019, a collaboration between Mateus Carrilho and MC Tha, "Sonzeira", was released. The following month, the singer released another single, "Rito de Passá". The track served as the first single from Tha's debut studio album, Rito de Passá, released on June 21, 2019. The album was considered one of the 50 best national albums by the website Tem Mais Discos do Que Amigos. Despite not being released as a single, the song "Coração Vagabundo" received a music video directed by Rodrigo de Carvalho, which premiered on February 13, 2020.

Foi pra ser menestrel
De viola, brasão e anel
Cruzei mar e sertão
Com uma estrela do céu
Reluzindo no meu chapéu
Vim mostrar beleza
E essa estrela acesa
Virou na noite, um fogarel
Pra lutar contra o mal
Me tornei capitão
Parabelo e punhal na mão
Pus em cada arraial
Uma estrela no chão
Com a ponta do meu facão
Nos campos de guerra
Lutei por meus irmãos
Por essa terra (Ogunhe)
Tombei na serra (Ogum)
Mas meu sonho não
Aruanda chamou
Eu virei orixá
Cavaleiro de Oxalá
Hoje eu sou defensor
Guardião do luar
Sou São Jorge, Ogum Beira-Mar
Aruanda chamou
Eu virei orixá
Cavaleiro de Oxalá
Hoje eu sou defensor
Guardião do luar
Sou São Jorge, Ogum Beira-Mar
Aruanda chamou
Eu virei orixá
Cavaleiro de Oxalá
Hoje eu sou defensor
Guardião do luar
Sou São Jorge, Ogum Beira-Mar
Aruanda chamou
Eu virei orixá
Cavaleiro de Oxalá
Hoje eu sou defensor

The song "São Jorge" by Mc Tha tells the story of the artist's journey and transformation into a defender and guardian. The lyrics begin by describing the artist's arrival on this earth as a minstrel, carrying a viola, a coat of arms, and a ring. They have traveled across the sea and the wilderness, with a shining star on their hat. However, instead of finding beauty, they have only seen sadness. The shining star has turned into a fire at night.
In order to fight against evil, the artist became a captain, armed with a Parabelo (a type of shotgun) and a dagger. They have planted stars in every village, using the tip of their machete. They have fought in the fields of war for their brothers and for the land. They have fallen in the mountains, but their dream remains.
The song then takes a spiritual turn, with the reference to Aruanda, a mythical place in Afro-Brazilian religions. The artist is called by Aruanda and becomes an orisha (a deity), specifically a knight of Oxalá. They are now a defender and guardian, specifically of the moon, and are identified as São Jorge (Saint George) and Ogum Beira-Mar (a deity associated with the sea). The repetition of these verses emphasizes their new role and identity. The song ends with the message that, for the sake of their ori (a spiritual aspect related to destiny and personal strength), every situation will have a sweet ending.
Overall, "São Jorge" is a powerful song that combines elements of personal journey, social commentary, and spiritual transformation. It speaks to overcoming adversity, embracing strength, and becoming a protector in the face of evil.
