Me Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
In the ongoing war on reality
On reason, on truth and good
You rewrite the terms of engagement
You picture frame the entire conversation
You threaten
You dictate
You shame
You lie
There's no darkness
There's no light
No boys and girls
No up or down
No left or right
Tehran, Terre Haute
Tehran, Terre Haute
They run
You can take me around and around in circles
I can let you take me around if I don't want to think
And if I let you take me around and around in circles
After all your excuses I've got no one to blame
You can take me around and around in circles
When the conclusion's clear you say it's not what you think
And if I let you take me around and around in circles
After all the confusion I've got no one to blame but myself
Myself
You can take me around and around in circles
I can let you take me around if I don't want to think
And if I let you take me around and around in circles
After all your excuses I've got no one to blame but myself
Myself
The lyrics to Me's song "Circles" express a commentary on the ongoing war on reality, reason, and truth. The artist is making a statement about the manipulation of information and the distortion of truth in modern society. The repeated phrase "Na na na na na na na na na" creates a sense of frustration and exhaustion with the state of affairs.
The song addresses how those in power rewrite the terms of engagement and control the narrative, using tactics such as framing conversations, threatening, dictating, shaming, and canceling. The lyrics suggest that these actions lead to a lack of clarity and truth. The line "There's no darkness, there's no light, no boys and girls, no up or down, no left or right" emphasizes the confusion and chaos resulting from the manipulation of information.
The mention of "Tehran, Terre Haute" may allude to different locations but with a shared experience of running, perhaps symbolizing the constant struggle faced by individuals in these circumstances.
The chorus reflects the struggle of being caught in a cycle of manipulation. The artist acknowledges that they can be taken around in circles and be complacent if they choose not to think critically. However, the repeated line "After all your excuses I've got no one to blame but myself" suggests a realization that they are responsible for their own complicity and should take accountability for falling into these patterns.
Overall, "Circles" serves as a critique of the manipulation of truth and the resulting confusion and apathy that can arise from it. It encourages listeners to question the information they receive and to take responsibility for their own role in perpetuating these cycles.

Vanic on this one brought for me the same vibe as he did on Save Yourself 2 years ago, drop is putting me in such an unexplainable mood where I'm thinking about my past which was a lot better than my current, honestly I feel like you should upload more music like this, one producer who gives me similar vibes in his songs is ADVENT, he always got that sweet singing and then powerful and melodic drops which can put you in feeling like you are floating, at least that is experience I get from hearing his music.
