1) Medina Danielle Oona Valbak (born Andrea Fuentealba Valbak; November 30, 1982 in Risskov, Aarhus, Denmark), is already a huge pop sensation in her native country. The half Danish half Chilean songstress began working with the infamous production team, 'Providers' in the summer of 2008 and released the dance floor smash, Kun For Mig (You & I) in September 2008.
The track spent a phenomenal seven weeks at number 1 in the Danish Dance chart before national radio began to take note in January 2009. To date, "Kun For Mig" (You & I) is the biggest record of the year in Denmark. The single has spent an astonishing 6 weeks at number 1, selling 75,000 singles and reached double platinum status.
She has performed over 100 shows since January 2009, including supports for Lady GaGa. Her busy live schedule over the summer was supposed to have included supporting The Pussycat Dolls in August, but the show was cancelled.
Medina has now recorded "Kun For Mig" (You & I) in English and after a heated A & R scramble, the track will be released in the UK in mid September on Parlophone Records. Fierce mixes come from Deadmau5, Spencer & Hill, Dash Berlin, Svenstrup & Vendelboe, Kim Fai, Havin Zagross and Luciano Vargas. But now you’ve come, you’ve come around when shit goes down.
Last time we kissed you left me dying.
I thought that I, I buried you deep in the ground.
Why you have to stop this beating, opening and closing feelings.
Why you have to stop this beating.
Why you have to stop this feeling,
Get outta my head, get outta my heart,
'Cause there ain’t no place for you anymore
when you’re leaving scars, you’re leaving the scars.
The door is open just keep walking.
And when it shuts, the cuts you made will heal again.
Why you have to stop this beating, opening and closing feelings.
Why you have to stop this beating.
Why you have to stop this feeling, I don’t want it, I don’t need it,
why you have to stop this feeling.
Get outta my head, get outta my heart,
'Cause there ain’t no place for you anymore
when you’re leaving scars, you’re leaving the scars.
Get outta my head, get outta my heart,
'Cause every time I let you in you’re leaving the scars.
In the song Scars by Medina, the artist delves into the complexities of past relationships and how they continue to impact one's emotions even after the relationship has ended. The first verse reveals the conflicting emotions the artist feels towards her past lover. Although she feels like she's flying high in life, she's reminded of the pain they caused when they re-entered her life during a difficult time. The artist thought the pain had been buried, but the return of her former lover brings up memories and emotions she thought she had moved on from.
The chorus conveys a strong message of self-love and healing. The artist realizes that her past lover only left scars and there's no room for them in her heart and mind. The door is open for them to leave, but the cuts they made will eventually heal. The artist's tone throughout the song is confident, suggesting that she's finally ready to let go of the toxic relationship and move on with her life.
Overall, Scars is a powerful song about overcoming the pain of a past relationship and finding inner strength to move forward. The chorus' message of self-love and healing is something that resonates with many people who have experienced heartbreak.
