Regarde-moi
Bien en face
Avant que je n'me casse
Touchez toi
Touchez moi
Et que je m'efface!
Souviens-toi de nous
Souviens-toi de tout
Souviens-toi de nous
Souviens-toi de tout
Ne m'oublie pas
Non ne m'oublie pas
Réponds-moi
Brises la glace
Avant que je me fasse
Une dernière crise d'angoisse
Et que je t'efface

The lyrics to "Souviens-toi" by Melatonine are about a plea for remembrance and a fear of being forgotten. The singer begs the listener to look them in the face before they leave and to remember everything about their relationship. The repetition of "Souviens-toi de nous, souviens-toi de tout" (remember us, remember everything) emphasizes the importance of this plea. The chorus also includes the desperate request to not be forgotten, with the line "Ne m'oublie pas, non ne m'oublie pas" (don't forget me, don't forget me).
The second verse includes a request for the listener to respond and break the ice before the singer has a final panic attack and disappears completely. The fear of being forgotten and disappearing seems to stem from a fear of losing the relationship and the memories associated with it. The song ends with a final repetition of the chorus, emphasizing the importance of remembering.
Overall, "Souviens-toi" is a powerful and emotional plea for the preservation of a relationship and its associated memories. The fear of being forgotten and disappearing adds to the urgency of the message.
