(1) Melrose (FIN) was formed in 1981 by Mika Tokela (lead guitar), Repa Nurmi (2nd guitar), Mika Rantanen (drums) and Jari Piilola (vocals). They started out as a rock-a-billy/50's rock'n'roll combo in Länsimäki, Hakunila. The name Melrose came from the text 'Melrose S&A Club 1962' which was on Tokela's baseball jacket. Soon the original singer, Piilola, left the band and Tokela took over the vocals.
By the time they made their first single, the band had shifted from being a somewhat odd rockabilly quartet to a kind of psychobilly trio with the line-up of Tokela (guitar & vocals), Repa - who had switched from guitar to upright bass - and Jami Haapanen on the drums. They quickly became known for their energetic live shows and the distinctive image that made them stand out from the crowd.
The current members are Tokela (vocals & guitar), Jami Haapanen (1984-, drums) and Roger Nieminen (1991-, bass).
(2) Metal-infused Pop/Pop Rock with some sparks of Prog influence and carried by vocal hooks provided by a great singer who never plays it safe, never relies on cheese over melodic substance. Pop Metal done right.
(3) Melrose (NL) is a Dutch band with five band members: Erik, Dik, Rob, Mattheus and Arjo. Melrose became famous after their single 'o'. A lot of football suporters sing the song during the football match.
(4) So, who is Melrose? They are the answer to what's missing in R&B. Sure alot of people say that, but the proof is there. Just take a look and have a listen. They've got the look, the voices, the personalities, and the SWAG. First there's Toni from Atlanta...the southern belle who is the Melrose Kitten. Then there's Mylah from the Midwest...the cool girl with edge for days. And there's Kelee from LA...the little diva with the huge voice. Not only writers, these girls are writers, dancers, and performers to their core. With hitmaker Adonis behind them, and heavy hitters like Bryan Michael Cox, Rodney Jerkins, and Danja on the tracks, Melrose is definitely poised to take the R&B game by storm! Don't say we didn't warn you!
(5) Sweet songs recorded on a handheld tape recorder. Bedroom Pop & Dreampop.
(6) Melissa Rosenberg is a singer/songwriter based in Chicago, Il. Mel got started in the music industry in 2013 when she was featured on Ordinary World, a Duran Duran cover by Mechina. The singer/songwriter also plays guitar, piano, and ukelele. Inspiration for her songs comes from everyday life and the lessons she has learned along the way. The main music influence that really drives Mel to live out her dreams is Hayley Williams, lead singer of Paramore. and you are nobody to me
I just can't be seen with no one,
there's no one that I wanna see,
this is how it happens to be
I am worlds loneliest boy now,
been all my life actually
All alone in at a crowd but,
I'll get by eventually
I do what comes out naturally
that's how it's always been with me
you see
I don't want to be in your business
it seems like monkey business to me
I know there's a stressing mistress
and that is no news to me
It's not a riddle nor a mystery
I do what comes out naturally
and that's how it's always been with me
you see,
I got to be free
Look me in the eyes,
and say
It's gonna be okay
Look me in the eyes,
and say
everything's going your way
everything's going your way
I am on virtue of breakdown
a float on a raging sea
Time to sink 'er swimmers right now
see what the rest of my life can be
I go as far as I can see
I've gone so long too aimlessly
the dos and don'ts ain't shit to me
you see,
I just got to be free
Look me in the eyes,
and say
It's gonna be okay
Look me in the eyes,
and say
everything's going your way
Solo
Look me in the eyes,
and say
It's gonna be okay
Look me in the eyes,
and say
everything's going your way
Look me in the eyes,
and say
It's gonna be okay
Look me in the eyes,
and say
everything's going your way
Our love is come what may
Everything's going your way
Everything's going your way
In Melrose's song "Come What May," the singer expresses a sense of loneliness and detachment from the world around them. They reject the company of others, declaring "I don't wanna be with nobody, and you are nobody to me" and "I just can't be seen with no one, there's no one that I wanna see." This detachment has made the singer the "world's loneliest boy," who is "all alone in a crowd." Despite their alienation, they assert their autonomy and desire for freedom, stating "I got to be free."
Throughout the song, the singer emphasizes their commitment to following their feelings and instincts, rather than conforming to external expectations or societal norms. They describe themselves as someone who does "what comes out naturally," and insists that "the dos and don'ts ain't shit to me." At the same time, the singer acknowledges the turbulence and uncertainty of their current position. They describe themselves as "on virtue of breakdown, afloat on a raging sea," and suggest that they are at a turning point in their life, where they will either "sink or swim" and see "what the rest of my life can be." Ultimately, however, the singer seems to find solace in a vague sense of optimism, asking someone to "look me in the eyes, and say everything's going your way."
