Sakarsē dienas līdz baltkvēlei,
Sirdis līdz baltkvēlei, līdz baltkvēlei!
Dārdi, gadsimt,
Sakarsē smadzenes līdz baltkvēlei!
Līdz tādai baltkvēlei, ka kļūst neiespējami
No tevis aizbēgt.
Tikai neaiztiec to siena kaudzi,
Kurā guļot dzirdēju sienāžus spēlējam
Kaut ko tik vasarīgi klusu,
Ka uz mirkli aizmirsu tavu dārdoņu.
The lyrics of Menuets's song "Lūgšana gadsimtam" tell the story of the pain and difficulties felt in the current era, represented by the term "gadsimt" or century. The opening lines urge the century to hurt and suffer until it fades away to the color of white moonlight. This could be interpreted as a plea for the century to face and confront the troubles and problems of the modern age until they become lighter in comparison to the purity of the moon.
The following lines continue to describe the pain of the century, this time focusing on the mind, urging it to suffer until it reaches the point where it becomes impossible to escape. This suggests that the battle for progress and change in the modern age is a tough one, and even the most resilient minds may struggle to overcome the challenges that the world presents.
The final lines of the song refer to a metaphorical haystack or pile, where the singer lies and listens to the sounds of summer. This could represent a brief moment of respite from the difficulties and pain of the modern age. However, it is clear that the pains and struggles persist, and the haystack may only provide a temporary escape from the world's problems.
Overall, "Lūgšana gadsimtam" seems to express a deep sense of concern and pain for the modern age, while also acknowledging the importance of facing and confronting these difficulties in order to move forward.
