There's A Reason
MercyMe Lyrics

Let the redeemed celebrate
If you know what I know
You can't wipe the smile off your face
Oh people, stand up and praise
[Chorus:]
There's a reason to dance
Of the sacred romance
With our Savior and King
We lift up our hands
We fall on our knees
To the Son of Man
The reason we are free
There's a reason
All glory to
The King of Kings, Lord if Lords
Oh the value of Your worth
No worldly treasures can afford
And we praise You forevermore
[Chorus:]
There's a reason to stand
There's a reason to shout, to shout Your name on high
So we take up our cross, there's a reason to die
Because Jesus is alive
There's a reason
[Chorus:]
There's a reason
You are the reason
The reason we are free
The lyrics of MercyMe's song, "There's A Reason," are centered on the theme of celebrating and giving praise to Jesus Christ. The opening lines suggest that it is time for the redeemed to celebrate, as they cannot hold back their joy and have a reason to smile. This theme is further continued throughout the song with the chorus inviting people to dance and sing of the sacred romance with Jesus, whom they refer to as the Savior and the King. The lyrics suggest that no earthly treasures can compare to the worth of Jesus, and as such, they give Him all the glory and forever praise Him.
The second verse continues to emphasize the worth of Jesus as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The lyrics suggest that no earthly treasure can compare to Him, and as such, they invite everyone to praise Him forevermore. In the third verse, the emphasis is on the reason for Jesus' sacrifice, which is that He lives, and as such, there is a reason to shout His name on high. The lyrics suggest that because Jesus is alive, they have a reason to take up their cross, even if it means dying.
In summary, MercyMe's "There's A Reason" is a song of celebration and praise to Jesus Christ, highlighting His worth and the reason for His sacrifice. The lyrics invite everyone to celebrate and give all the glory to Jesus, as there is no other like Him.

It is so beautiful, frightening but comforting, to understand just how our lives now and eternity are occurring at the same time. We are already walking our journey towards eternity right now. In all your troubles and triumphs, rejoice in the Lord brethren!
