Metallica first found commercial success with the release of its third album, Master of Puppets (1986), which is cited as one of the heaviest metal albums and the band's best work. The band's next album, ...And Justice for All (1988), gave Metallica its first Grammy Award nomination. Its self-titled fifth album, Metallica (1991), was the band's first not to root predominantly in thrash metal; it appealed to a more mainstream audience, achieving substantial commercial success and selling over 16 million copies in the United States to date, making it the best-selling album of the SoundScan era. After experimenting with different genres and directions in subsequent releases, Metallica returned to its thrash metal roots with the release of its ninth album, Death Magnetic (2008), which drew similar praise to that of the band's earlier albums. This was followed by the band's 10th studio album, Hardwired... to Self-Destruct (2016), with its 11th album, 72 Seasons, releasing in 2023.
In 2000, Metallica led the case against the peer-to-peer file sharing service Napster, in which the band and several other artists filed lawsuits against the service for sharing their copyright-protected material without consent, eventually reaching a settlement. Metallica was the subject of the acclaimed 2004 documentary film Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, which documented the troubled production of the band's eighth album, St. Anger (2003), and the internal struggles within the band at the time. In 2009, Metallica was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band co-wrote the screenplay for and starred alongside Dane DeHaan in the 2013 concert film Metallica: Through the Never, in which the band performed live against a fictional thriller storyline.
Metallica has released 10 studio albums, four live albums (including two performances with the San Francisco Symphony), 12 video albums, a cover album, two extended plays, 37 singles and 39 music videos. The band has won nine Grammy Awards from 23 nominations, and its last six studio albums (beginning with Metallica) have consecutively debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Metallica ranks as one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, having sold over 125 million albums worldwide as of 2018. Metallica has been listed as one of the greatest artists of all time by magazines such as Rolling Stone, which ranked the band No. 61 on its 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list. As of 2017, Metallica is the third-best-selling music artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991, selling a total of 58 million albums in the United States.

So we all still having some fun here?
We got some sweat going on out there I fucking hope?
We like to see some fucking action going on
Who?
Yeah yeah yeah, that's where we fucking are man. don't forget it
Cerveza, man! eh?
Metallica, Metallica
Have some fucking Guevara
A little beer for my throat
A little drinking music maestro
Hey y'all can join in if you want
Hail Satan if you please.
I'm just kidding man
Maybe
That's Jason
And he's in a good fucking mood, so you better look the fuck out
So uh, I think he wants to play a little bass for you, is that alright with you?
No, I said is that alright? (shit, yeah!)
OK, let's have some lights there JD my friend. Alright!
So, how you doing Mexico city? alright?. I see a lot of my amigos here
How you guys doing man, how you guys doing? alright? yeah!
What can I say, uh, fourth night in Mexico city.
It's, it's a huge thing for us man, you guys, cause uh
We've been waiting a long time to come to Mexico, you know,
Like ten or eleven years or something
And uh, you guys have been waiting for us, right?
So I'm just glad you showed up to share this with us
Alright alright alright
OK one more thing man real quick OK
This show right here, all these lights and all this stuff man
A lot of people work really hard to make this happen for you guys
And for us every night.
If you get together with me, and make a bunch of noise for the road crew, yeah baby!
Alright, thank yo. Gracia. Let's have a good time tonight man, together . Yeah
Thanks a lot! Salute!
As a lyrics interpreter, it is difficult to derive a specific meaning from these lyrics, as they are primarily comprised of introductory remarks and stage banter from Metallica frontman James Hetfield to the band's live audience in Mexico City. Hetfield's remarks begin with a playful nod to the band's performance, asking the crowd if they are all still having fun and pointing out the energy and sweat in the venue. He then turns to the audience, encouraging them to join in with the drinking and music, before jokingly suggesting a hail to Satan, quickly brushing it off as simply a joke.
Hetfield then introduces bassist Jason Newsted and acknowledges the hard work of the band's road crew, encouraging the audience to make some noise for them. He closes his remarks by thanking the crowd and raising a glass in salute.
While the content of these lyrics may not hold a clear meaning or message, they offer a glimpse into the lively and charismatic stage presence of Metallica and the band's efforts to connect with their audiences during live performances.

This is perfect playing. now i can clearly see how mad was Kirk with his solos in the past ;d incredible skills.

SzanujCzerwień n how awesome Dave was with metallica
chernebog07
Sherwin Fernandes Dave was, and always will be, a hack. Everyone knows the real genius and inspiration behind early Metallica was Cliff.
S.S.E-4
-James wrote most of those there "solos"
Brian G
Spectacular Spectacular or Jeff beck, batio, malmstene, loureiro.
The Kaden Gank
Spectacular Spectacular ah more untrue stuff. First off for everyone here, James did not write solos to metallicas songs, he writes most of the riffs and kirk comes in and does solos. Kirk tho made some of metallicas most memorable riffs like chorus riff to master of puppets, enter sandmans riff, creeping deaths bridge, damage inc bridge and more. Also he isnt playing daves solos. If you look at interviews kirk told metallica he wasnt gonna play ear for ear daves solos, he will start them out like dave did and then go on his own and metallica agreed. Why I personally like kirk is because even tho yea he isnt the most technically correct guitarist(which who gives a shit, guitar nerds make playing music sooo boring) he inspired and is a metal innovator, he never boasts about him self even with his credentials and stays down to Earth. Now ofc unlike dave even tho i like him, he makes sure everyoneeee knows who he is and this and that and the third.
Arttu Uusisalo
19+ minutes of metallica solos 0 missed notes, pretty good if u ask me
ThrashGuy
+arttu uusisalo he missed a note on the first solo he did
PaulAllen’sCard
He missed a few notes here and there, but overall this video was still outstanding!!!
yearginclarke
Kirk used/uses simple basic patterns but sounds so unique and fucking awesome. That's the difference between a musician and a player.
