The Maple Leaf Forever
Michael Bublé Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, land of blue unending skies
Mountains strong and sparkling snow
A scent of freedom in the wind
O'er the emeralds fields below

To thee we brought our hopes, our dreams
For thee we stand together
Our land of peace, where proudly flies
The maple leaf forever

Uh, one, two, three, four
Ah, let's go
Oh, maple leaf
Around the world
You speak as you rise high above
Of courage, peace, and quiet strength
Of the Canada that I love

Long may it wave, and grace our own
Blue skies and stormy weather
Within my heart, above my home
The maple leaf forever (oh, Canada)

Long may it wave, and grace our own
Blue skies and stormy weather
Within my heart, above my home
The maple leaf forever

A bright flag revered on every ground
The maple leaf forever

Ever since I saw him do this in the closing ceremonies, I've had it stuck in my head, and will wander around singing it to myself. I probably wouldn't get so many odd looks if I were on the Canadian side of the border! :) This song reaffirms my status as a Canadaphile....and a fan of Michael's music. :)

I've always loved this song (it could/should be our national anthem). Thanks to Michael for remembering it for OUR Olympics. Happy Anniversary to our Canadian Flag.

The Arctic Gamer

He should have left it forgotten if this is what he did to it.

Not only did he sing the butchered socialist version, but he also gave it a disgusting Jazz twist that no national anthem should have to endure.

Beautiful! Loved it, thank you! :)

This is an incredible piece of music. As always, Michael you never cease to amaze me with your incredible talents! I am from Vancouver and I greatly wish I could've been in BC Place to see him perform this song live. Quite frankly I found a lot of the ceremonies a little weird but Michael's amazing voice made it all worth it. I feel so patriotic to Canada when listening to this song!

God Save our Queen and Heaven Bless, the Maple Leaf Forever.... Michael Buble has a marvellous voice, but really, I wish they would sing the real version of the MLF

Ruffles Stone

Hugh Jarse
