A guitar is a prop, not a peice of wardrobe.
-
A kilt is not worn, it is folded, pleated and tied from a Tartan.
A Tartan can range in size, although usually in only two;
those being the normal Tartan at 2 meters wide by 3 meters in length
and then the Grand Tartan that measures 4 by 6 meters long.

The Tartan was an essential peice of survival gear for the Scotch and was used for many things, chief among them was shelter.
A braided cord would be undone and strung up between two spots.
It could then be used as the overhead support line when placing the Tartan overtop of it, turning it into a decent sized tent or shade.

@My 3 son's Aye, et es true.
But, when filled with Scotch, yeh become the Scotch. 🥃 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I didn't notice that, good catch. I had ment to type Scotts, but autocorrect decided Scotch was better. :P

I, too, come from a long line of Scotts.

Non Fun Fact: my family were "Witch Hunters" during the 15-1700's.
The English Crown had put out bounties for any witches to be captured and brought in to "face trial for their crimes".
Unfortunately, this usually led to innocent people being abducted and occasionally their toungs clipped so they that couldn't speak in defence themselves.
But there is a legend, that one day we had captured a very real and very powerful witch.
It was decided that it was too risky to bring her in, so they had taken her to the sea shore so as to burn her alive.
Before the flames had consumed the woman, she had placed a curse on those present and on to all of their generations.

So, yeah. I am apparently cursed, will always be cursed and as will all of my descendants until the end of time.

Grew up in the 80s, and while the style was big and frizzy, not everyone wore it that way. I didn't, and knew others that chose not to follow the trend of big hair either. It actually fits Barrymore's character, as it was typically the quieter, more reserved girls that didn't do the big hair.

Sister_Bertrille

Yes. I knew plenty of young women in college who wore their hair in a style similar to Drew's in the 1980s. Lots of shorter hairstyles, too.

My Mom wore short shorts during the 1960s and 70s. Just because history says it wasn't popular until a "celebrity" does something, doesn't mean a style was not around.

Marie Hernandez

I agree. Purple People Eater even asks, "Who wears short shorts?"

A popular thing in the 1950's was guys to take pics of their girlfriends standing next to their custom cars/hot rods.
They would be wearing 'short, shorts' I got some pics.

Short shorts were fashionable in the 60s, they were called hot pants

Kelly Jeau Larson

@gerard hand That's RIGHT! I was far too young to remember the "Hot Pants" terminology or slang. Thanks.

Janet McKenney

I wore short shorts in the early 60's - they were very popular then.

I'm reasonably sure nobody regrets any of these mishaps. Every movie you mention made millions of dollars so they couldn't care less about the wardrobes.

Dan Garrett

I agree. The hype was just that. Clickbait to get you to watch this waste of time.
