Love to Love
Michael Schenker Group Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh it's been too many times and I can't go back
Night bars, guitars, rundown motels like shacks
What it mounts up to I don't want it at all
Lost you and I want you today

Love to love to love you
Misty green and blue
Love to love to love you

To be something, to be with you
Don't say that you'll never know
Love to love to love you

Half the time it could seem funny
The other half is just too sad
This west bound moon's they rise and fall
Lost you and I want you today

To be something, to be near you

I don't know where I'm going to
I've tried and I need you to stay

Overall Meaning

The song Love to Love by the Michael Schenker Group is a melancholic representation of the lead singer's longing for a lost love. The song talks about the feeling of being lost and disoriented in life, reminiscing about the old times when they were together. The lyrics convey a sense of regret as the singer realizes the futility of things like night bars, rundown motels, and other things that once seemed glamorous. It's a classic tale of a person struggling to come to terms with past mistakes, and the emptiness that it leaves behind.

As the lyrics progress, the singer's desperation to be near the lost love becomes increasingly evident. He talks about how he needs her to stay and how he doesn't know where he's going to. The song's message is one of regret, loss, and longing. The melancholic tune only adds to this soulful narrative, giving it a pensive and heartbreaking feel.

Уже в возрасте, но приятно слушать Майкла Шенкера. Неподражаемый гитарист. ❤❤❤

Broadfieldpoint

Untouchable....his solos influenced an entire generation....

Frank Kranick

Absolutely, no doubt!!!!😎🔥

Dale Nelson

I am never bored listening to his playing.

Martin Myhill

Totally agree he's brilliant

Pistol Pete

Such a beautiful song! Michael's tone and skills are unmatched, only Tony Iommi can be compared. Both are true creators, with their own style. No copycats here!

Vino_Zx1zero

Pistol Pete exactly!!!!!!! Iommi and schenker best guitarists of all time period!!!! #FACTSSSSSSSSSSS

lastdaysguitar

Tony's great but he could never match Michael's velocity.

Robert Lee Pearce

Toni is definitely on my top 5 guitarist, but I followed Ozzy and Randy Rhoads after Black Sabbath split. When UFO split. I was in a UFO/MSG tribute band and lost track of UFO after a couple of good tracks on No Place to Run. Got to give Phil Moog and Ozzy credit for making these songs legendary.

Maynard Rothchild

@Vino_Zx1zero Period. That's a bit of a strong statement but they are both great in totally different ways.
