1) MICHELLE is a fresh musical collective hailing from New York City. Weaving in and out of R&B, Pop, Jazz and Indie sounds, the group of six pays homage to these genres through 70s inspired basslines, driving drum beats, plush synths and enticing vocals. Having recently celebrated their first year on the scene as an ensemble, MICHELLE is already solidifying itself as a strong current in a new wave of emerging NYC staples. MICHELLE’s unique stylings are the result of fine-tuned production and arrangements by Julian Kaufman and Charlie Kilgore, with singers Jamee Lockard, Layla Ku, Sofia D’Angelo, and Emma Lee churning out illustrative lyrics and powerful harmonics. Written and recorded in Kaufman’s bedroom over the span of two weeks, their debut album “HEATWAVE” captures a compilation of sentimental moments – snapshots of youth through a New York summer, all immediately recognizable to those who’ve lived them (and those that have wished to).
2) German singer Tanja Shitawey (née Hewer) (born February 15, 1972 in Villingen-Schwenningen), she represented Germany in the ESC 2001 with "Wer Liebe lebt" ("To Live for Love").

PULSE
Michelle Lyrics

Don't go telling mother, I want you
Desperate demeanor
Find me in a fever, I want you
Skin too hot, your stare too cold
Words too slow, but your hands too bold
You think too much, but your bodies on
Prove you, prove you wrong
I feel your pulse through the sleeve of your suit
Through your collar and your shoes
The eyes that keep on looking at me
I feel your pulse from outside of the room
Feel you radiate a mood
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
I could break the tension
But then I'd have to mention, I want you
Maybe if I lean in
You would get the meaning, I want you
Skin too hot, you stare too cold
Words too slow, but your hands too bold
You think too much, but your bodies on
Come with me and I can prove you
Prove you, prove you wrong
I feel your pulse through the sleeve of your suit
Through your collar and your shoes
The eyes that keep on looking at me
I feel your pulse from outside of the room
Feel you radiate a mood
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
Feel it, do you feel it?
Can you feel my pulse too?
I feel your pulse through the sleeve of your suit
Through your collar and your shoes
The eyes that keep on looking at me
I feel your pulse from outside of the room
Feel you radiate a mood
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
Too, too, too, too
Can you feel my pulse too?
In "PULSE," Michelle portrays a sense of longing and desire for someone. The lyrics suggest a yearning for a connection that goes beyond surface level. The singer is drawn to this person, even though they may not be the typical choice ("Dance a little rougher, Don't go telling mother, I want you"). There is a desperation in their demeanor, desperately seeking a passionate encounter ("Desperate demeanor, Find me in a fever, I want you").
The chorus highlights the intensity of the attraction. The singer feels the pulse of this person, not just metaphorically, but quite literally. They sense their presence and energy from outside the room ("I feel your pulse from outside of the room, Feel you radiate a mood"). In return, the singer wants to be felt as well and is wondering if the other person can feel their pulse too. The repetition of "Can you feel my pulse too?" indicates a strong desire for reciprocation and emotional connection.
Throughout the song, there is an emphasis on physical sensations, like the heat of the skin, the intensity of the stare, and the boldness of touch ("Skin too hot, your stare too cold, Words too slow, but your hands too bold"). There is a tension between the rational thoughts ("You think too much") and the primal desire for physical intimacy ("but your bodies on"). The singer wants to prove the other person wrong, suggesting that they can offer something beyond their expectations.
Overall, "PULSE" captures the yearning for a deep, passionate connection with someone and the hope for that connection to be mutual. The lyrics evoke a sense of desire, desperation, and the longing for reciprocation.
