Mickey Hawks Lyrics

Bip, bop, bip bop boom, well
Bip bop boom, you're the fruit of my loom
I said, bip bop boom, you're like a flower in bloom
Bip bop boom, I thought you're gonna be doomed
I said, bip, bop, bip bop boom

Well, bip bop bop, you know just how to rock
I said, bip bop bop, you gave me such a shock
Bip bop bop, I love the way you walk
I said, bip, bop, bip bop bop

Well, bip bop boom, gotta give your daddy room
I said bip bop boom, I'm gonna rock the room
Bip bop boom, man, I gotta zoom
I said, bip, bop, bip bop boom

(Ah, git it!)

Well, bip bop boom, gotta give your daddy room
I said bip bop boom, I'm gonna rock the room

Bip bop boom, man I gotta zoom
I said, bip, bop, bip bop boom

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Mickey Hawks & The Night Raiders's "Bip Bop Boom" are a playful celebration of a blossoming romance. The phrase "bip bop boom" serves as a catchy refrain and creates a fun, rhythmic pattern throughout the song. The first verse likens the object of the singer's affection to a flower in bloom, suggesting that their love is at its peak. The singer also mentions that they thought their love interest was doomed, which could imply that the relationship wasn't initially destined to work out, but has defied expectations.

The second verse is more focused on physical attraction, with the singer praising the way their love interest walks and stating that they gave them a shock with their rockin' moves. The bridge of the song reaffirms the singer's intentions to spend time with their love interest and dance the night away, promising to give "your daddy room" (perhaps implying that this takes place at a social event where the love interest's father is present), and vowing to "rock the room".

Overall, "Bip Bop Boom" is a fun, energetic song that captures the excitement and joy of new love. The repeated refrain and upbeat tempo make it a catchy tune that's hard not to dance along to.

Hi Megan,
I was wondering if Moon Mullins had a son? I met a guy today at work with the same last name. He said his dad was in a band during the 60s and that at several times he would often claim that Chuck Berry stole the duck walk from him. It would be amazing if I could find out if it was him or not. I've done some research and it appears there is another "moon" mullins who was also a disc jockey back in the day of country radio, however, unlike the first Moon Mullins, he is still alive and lives in CA, and retired.

LOL - Yes it is still hard to believe that I am receiving royalties every 3 months from his music. Most of the royalties are coming from songs being played in Europe.
