When Mark Chavez left Adema in late 2003 following the release of their second LP, "Unstable" (album) and a fall out with the band, Marky later on in the year announced that he had started a new band calledState Of Mind. At first it was rumored that Mark had recruited Geno Lenardo and Frank Cavanagh, the guitarist and bassist of the band Filter, but this statement turned out to be false. Later on in the summer of 2005 it was revealed that Chavez's new band's name was Midnight Panic. The band features Mike Montano on bass, Peter Shubert on guitar, and Matt Low on drums. Mark then announced on his official website that the band had created a profile on MySpace.com that featured two songs that they had recently finished - "Celebrate" and "Give Me One Chance". Almost immediately, they gathered much attention and a new fan base. Most of the fans were former Adema fans of Mark. Many said how they had missed Chavez's edgy and original voice of Adema and how disappointed they were with the new lead singer Luke Caraccioli's softer and more melodic voice. Then on December 23rd, only a day before Christmas Eve, the band announced that their debut EP was available for purchase via their official website. These were limited edition EP's that were rather limited in quantity and they sold well. Since then, MP has finished the music video for their first hit "Tonight Is Our Last Night" and have now returned to the studio to finish up work for their debut full-length LP which is slated to be released sometime in 2006.
Celebrate
Midnight Panic Lyrics

My friends are tight like family
I've started to see
We walked on all these busy streets
Looking for something we can do
I'm feeling bored again
Why is life this way?
I can't say that one day we'll try and celebrate
The time we share together
I'm dealing more and more each day
I've tried to find a little peace
Inside out of me
Try giving one good reason why
I shouldn't end it all tonight
I won't be out
One wrong turn, and you're cruising out on a stretcher
Why is life this way?
I can't say that one day we'll try and celebrate
The time we share together
Time flies by, Can't rewind
The good times that we made
Hold on and celebrate
Your time's too short
For you to look back
Your time's too short
For you to look back
Quit looking back, quit looking back, quit looking back before you're dead
I can't say that one day we'll try and celebrate
The time we share together
Time flies by, Can't rewind
The good times that we played
Hold on and celebrate
Hold on and celebrate (Hold on and celebrate)
Hold on and celebrate (Hold on and celebrate)
The song "Celebrate" by Midnight Panic is a mix of conflicting emotions and themes. Throughout the song, the lyrics speak of the importance of friendship, making the most of life and cherishing the time spent together. However, it also deals with the darker aspects of life like boredom, hopelessness, and suicidal thoughts.
The opening lines "Good times are what you make of them, My friends are tight like family, I've started to see..." emphasize the importance of positivity and making the time spent together count. It highlights the value of strong friendships which have a family-like bond. However, this positive outlook shifts as the lyrics show the darker side with lines like "I'm feeling bored again" and "I've tried to find a little peace inside out of me", which talk about feeling lost and helpless in life.
The theme of mortality is brought up with the line, "...One wrong turn, and you're cruising out on a stretcher." This line is a grim reminder that life is unpredictable and one wrong move can lead to drastic consequences. The song then moves to a plea to hold onto hope—"Try giving one good reason why, I shouldn't end it all tonight." From here, it highlights the importance of cherishing life and friendships in the chorus, "I can't say that one day we'll try and celebrate, the time we share together. Time flies by, can't rewind. The good times that we made. Hold on and celebrate."
