When Mark Chavez left Adema in late 2003 following the release of their second LP, "Unstable" (album) and a fall out with the band, Marky later on in the year announced that he had started a new band calledState Of Mind. At first it was rumored that Mark had recruited Geno Lenardo and Frank Cavanagh, the guitarist and bassist of the band Filter, but this statement turned out to be false. Later on in the summer of 2005 it was revealed that Chavez's new band's name was Midnight Panic. The band features Mike Montano on bass, Peter Shubert on guitar, and Matt Low on drums. Mark then announced on his official website that the band had created a profile on MySpace.com that featured two songs that they had recently finished - "Celebrate" and "Give Me One Chance". Almost immediately, they gathered much attention and a new fan base. Most of the fans were former Adema fans of Mark. Many said how they had missed Chavez's edgy and original voice of Adema and how disappointed they were with the new lead singer Luke Caraccioli's softer and more melodic voice. Then on December 23rd, only a day before Christmas Eve, the band announced that their debut EP was available for purchase via their official website. These were limited edition EP's that were rather limited in quantity and they sold well. Since then, MP has finished the music video for their first hit "Tonight Is Our Last Night" and have now returned to the studio to finish up work for their debut full-length LP which is slated to be released sometime in 2006.
I Want To Know

What you are waiting for to change your life
My heart is a door
And all of the feelings run into my mind
Were on again, were off again
I try pretending this will mend
Cause I want you to stay
How could you know
How I am feeling
Nothing will change unless you start giving
I want to know
Why you still call me
Nothing is changing
I am left dealing inside
Im still confused with all of the feelings here inside my heart
I wish you were here
So that I can see you
Look into my eyes
Were on again, were off again
I try pretending this will mend
Cause I want you to stay
How could you know
How I am feeling
Nothing will change unless you start giving
I want to know
Why you still call me
Nothing is changing
I am left dealing inside
I am left dealing inside
Were on again, were off again
I am left dealing inside
How could you know
How I am feeling how I am feeling
Nothing will change unless you start giving
I want to know
Why you still call me
Nothing is changing
I am left dealing inside
The song "I Want To Know" by Midnight Panic is an emotional and relatable portrayal of the pain that comes with feeling stuck in a relationship that seems to be going nowhere. The lyrics speak to the frustrations of wanting to see someone you care about make changes to improve their life, but feeling powerless to help them. The singer's heart is open, represented by the metaphor of a door, but the other person is holding back, reluctant to make any changes.
Throughout the song, the singer expresses a desire to know why their partner continues to call them and hold onto the relationship, despite nothing changing. They crave communication and honesty, acknowledging that nothing will change unless the other person starts giving more. Despite their own confusion and mixed emotions, the singer wants their partner to stay and is willing to try to make it work, but they need more effort and commitment from the other person.
The repeating chorus of "we're on again, we're off again" highlights the tumultuous nature of the relationship and the frustration of never knowing where you stand. The longing for physical connection is also present in the desire to see the other person and look them in the eyes.
Overall, "I Want To Know" is a poignant and heartfelt portrayal of the complexities of relationships and the struggles of trying to make them work. It captures the pain of feeling stuck and powerless, while still holding onto hope that things can change if both parties are willing to put in the effort.
