Never Thought
Mike Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We bring each other balance
And our children bring us balance
And they bring us joy
Before we moved in here
We have always had our look like this
We used to living like this with our
There is a song we wrote for her years ago
There are songs we have written for her, um
Reincarnation that is, um, sunshine
This is, the sun will shine on you some day
The clouds will break tomorrow

I want you to step forward, no more fears
No more tears, oh

Overall Meaning

In Mike's song "Never Thought," the lyrics depict a deep sense of balance and harmonious connection within a relationship and family. The opening lines affirm how the individuals involved provide balance to each other, emphasizing their mutual support and understanding. Additionally, it highlights how their children also contribute to this equilibrium, bringing them joy and further enhancing their bond as a family unit.

The lyrics suggest a sense of contentment and acceptance with their way of life. The line "We used to living like this with our" implies that they have become accustomed to living in a particular manner, likely referring to their shared routines and habits. This familiarity reflects a deep-rooted connection between them, suggesting that they have grown together over the years.

The mention of a song they wrote for someone years ago indicates a deep history and emotional attachment to an individual, possibly their child. They have also written other songs, possibly revolving around the themes of reincarnation and sunshine, symbolizing hope and happiness.

Towards the end, the lyrics encourage the person they are addressing to step forward without fear or tears. There is a sense of reassurance and motivation, assuring them that brighter days are ahead and that the clouds will eventually break, allowing the sun to shine upon them. This message reflects the songwriter's desire to uplift and support the person they care for, providing encouragement and hope.

Overall, "Never Thought" celebrates the power of love, family, and the ability to find balance and joy in each other's presence.

Uh, nothin' to say, nothin' to say
Yo, yo

[Chorus]
Sometimes I'd rather just be wrong than to settle with it
I know my mama sing that song so I'll never forget
And you still grievin' over moms, no, I'll never forget
When I needed you, you gone, but you said we was friends
This shit I'll never forget

[Verse]
Like when my niggas did me wrong for the enemy set
I thought my papa took it off, he ain't send it to death
The terror read me like a log, so I never reflect
The same drink that I dissolve, but I bury the sense
Lie to me, say it's calm, but I clearly regret
The Pride trickle from my palm, now I carry neglect
My tribe little, but my heart seem to carry the bed
Goodbye, so my aunt shed a tear when I left
Was back with TJ in the Bronx, shit I'll never forget
And I was grindin' all along, I was lettin' 'em rest
It's young MIKE, I give it all, and respect to the dead
Was movin' sheisty in the dark, but the message was sent

[Chorus]
Times I'd rather, than settle with it
I know my mama sing that song so I'll never forget
And you still grievin' over moms, no, I'll never forget
And when I needed you, you gone, but you said we was friends
This shit I'll never forget
Sometimes I'd rather just be wrong than to settle with it
I know my mama sing that song so I'll never forget
And you still grievin' over moms, no, I'll never forget
When I needed you, you gone, but you said we was friends
Uh, this shit I'll never forget
Outro]
Mm-mm-mm
It's nothin' to say all along
I wanted to stay for long
Nothing you say is wrong, it heals
It's nothin' to say all along
I wanted to stay for long
Nothing you say is wrong, it heals
Uh
It's nothin' to say all along
I wanted to stay for long
Nothing you say is wrong, it heals
It's nothin' to say all along
I wanted to stay for long
Nothing you say is wrong, it heals

@Oh!KayCee my guy its not about the lyrics, its about the beat. While yes, I wouldn't say this music is abstract (bc all music is abstract) but the music is experimental bc it utilizes beats which are not as popular/mainstream/common, with an off beat flow.

Oh!KayCee

stop calling hiphop music experimental or abstract . what is abstract about what he's saying . what is hiphop if not experimental in definition .
