WEARY LOVE
Mike Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

This baby
And you are now listenin'
To a DJ Blackpower production
If I Was you
I would put my seatbelt on
See when I'm with you
I hope you got your seatbelt on
It's about to be a long, long ride

Another track of depth, me with all my past attempts
I know how sad it get, me and my erratic temper
Taking half a step, the screaming make the lashes wetter
I know I have regrets, the grief don't make the action better
Some shit I have to accept, with me I'm there you ask whenever
Try to pack it in, I'm such a bad pretender
Wanna have a glimpse, a dream where we could laugh together
We gotta add the cents, to eat from these bag endeavors
Keep a classic sent, greezy real black Jidenna
Tryna hack offense, it's easy being fast defender
I know that path is tense, no speaking where your ass'll end up
They eat a cash expense, believe they keep the passion censored

I had to ask him this, just seeing if my dad remembered
Like where the glamor went, deceived me thought it last forever

Overall Meaning

The beginning of "Weary Love" by Mike introduces us to the song in a unique fashion, almost like a radio DJ introduction. The line "If I Was you I would put my seatbelt on" sets the tone and implies that what is about to happen will be a wild ride. We then hear Mike's voice, which has a certain tiredness to it, but not defeated, like someone who has gone through challenges and wants to convey their experiences. Mike reflects on his past, his failures, and his regrets. He acknowledges that he has a temper that he struggles with, and that it can make things difficult for himself and for those around him. He seems to be trying to move forward from these past actions, but also recognizes that he needs to learn to accept them and move on from them. The line "gotta add the cents, to eat from these bag endeavors" reflects Mike's ambition to make something of himself despite his past. The song has a melancholic and introspective tone but is also resilient and hopeful.

Overall, "Weary Love" is an honest and reflective track that showcases Mike's ability to introspect and convey his emotions effectively through his music. The song speaks to the complexities of human relationships and reflects a universal message about how difficult yet essential healing, growth, and self-acceptance can be.

I need to check out more of his music. I originally heard of him due from Alchemist last project. And folks would always say, if you love Earl's music, then you would love this guy's tracks too. And this song is basically like my everyday type of chill vibe I like to put on to keep me balanced.

This instrumental is just the cream of the crop of this movement. I listen to it every morning at this point just to strike me with enough strength to arise.
