under the burning sun
Mike Lyrics

Youu0027re my doctor, you save me
Sprinkle me with your ashes
But if my love is fate then
Thereu0027s no need for salvation
Everythingu0027s bound inside me
Atoms of body and spirit
Iu0027ve got the sun under
My wing, I can feel it

Got the sun under my wing
Iu0027ve got the sun...

Eyes glowing – window panes
Mouth dry – life without meaning
Your face – always pale
My heart – always hidden
No one escapes the thunder
Even your secret guide, now
Iu0027ve got the sun under
My wing, my summer

Got the sun under my wing
Iu0027ve got the sun...

Youu0027re my doctor, you save me
But I donu0027t want your ashes
Because my love is fate and
Thereu0027s no need for salvation
See me now, the highlander
Touching the sky, always yearning
Iu0027ve got the sun under
My wing, let it burn me

Got the sun under my wing
Iu0027ve got the sun...

Youu0027re my doctor forever
But donu0027t be so alarming
I feel better and better
And nothing can harm me
Iu0027m only a snapshot
Of life, fragile and airy
This verse will capture me
The wind will carry

Got the sun under my wing
Iu0027ve got the sun...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Mike's Song Under the Burning Sun" by Yuna describe the singer's relationship with their lover, whom they refer to as "doctor," as they save them and sprinkle them with their ashes. However, the singer questions if their love is predestined and therefore, questions the need for salvation. They feel everything is bound inside of them, both physically and spiritually, and they have the sun under their wing. They can feel it glowing, and this gives them a sense of power and invincibility.

The singer then describes a sense of emptiness and despair, with their eyes glowing like window panes and their mouth dry from a life without meaning. They describe their and their doctor's face as always being pale, and their heart always hidden. However, they assert that no one can escape the thunder, even their secret guide. The singer then once again describes the feeling of having the sun under their wing, with their eyes set on the sky.

In the final verse, the singer feels better and better, and nothing can harm them, as they are only a snapshot of life that is fragile and airy. They believe that this verse will capture them, as the wind carries them away.

Overall, the song is about the singer's relationship with their lover and their search for a sense of purpose and meaning in life, ultimately finding a sense of power and invincibility through the metaphor of having the sun under their wing.

I think deep down Jimmy had a lot of affection for mike. I would have loved a scene with saul finding out that mike was murdered and being shaken by it. Then temporarily turning back into jimmy and being disgusted the next time he spoke to walter. As greedy as Jimmy is, and despite mike and saul being at odds by BB. I think Walt murdering mike over something so petty would disgust jimmy.

@Grant Williams bro it's just silly meth show and silly lawyer show it's not that deep

I personally believe mike had alot of respect for Jimmy, but not for Saul. I mean I get they're basically one and the same guy, but if he'd lived to see Jimmy come perfectly clean and accept full responsibility somehow, I think you'd see much of the respect and care come back. Mike had basically seen both sides of Jimmy before he died and he could probably tell on some level he was building this persona to help him cope and dig deeper into the criminal lifestyle.

It doesn't help Jimmy fucked over Howard as badly as he did, and Mike becoming more hardened and indifferent as he went on, but I genuinely think he cared about Jimmy when he actually was vulnerable and acted like, well Jimmy lol.

There was a deleted scene called Guns and Roses, after both the prison killings and Mike’s death. Saul, knowing about this, goes to Jesse’s house and gives him a gun for protection as he believes that there is a fair chance that Walt may kill them both given his past actions. Jesse asks Saul about Mike which Saul grimaces and deflects the question.

I love how Mike tried to make a genuine attempt at connecting with Saul. Shows that Mike, at least for a little while, had some respect for Saul. This is probably the moment he lost all respect for him, realizing all he cares about is money. I love Mike. He was a bad guy, who did terrible things, but still had a good heart, and a sense of morality. He was about as decent as a criminal of his status could be.

@JOSHUA GATDULA There is no error. Mike in Breaking Bad is clearer about his work. Remember: in Bagman he told Jimmy that he didn't care if he lived or died as long as his daughter-in-law and granddaughter had what they needed. Kill only who deserves it. He wouldn't be able to kill Gale, for example.

Ide love to imagine that incase hell and god exists then we are eaither damned or not by this.
not by our deeds but by where are hearts lie
BB and BCS showcase that concept very well

Chris Martin

@joshuagatdula3923 In BCS, you also see Mike's reluctance to do bad things blow up in his face several times. Mike's central lesson in BCS, akin to his "no half-measures" speech in BB, is that his reluctance to "go all the way" is more destructive in the long run.

Saul Goodman

@JOSHUA GATDULA I guess it does make sense for Mike to be more jaded and emotionless in BB since he’s been in Gus’ gang for years at that point.

The brilliant thing about this last episode is that it didn't just end the show for me, it also made me think about my own life and the whole time machine thing. They gave us all a time machine with this episode that gave us just enough nostalgia to help us let go of this amazing story and move on satisfied.
