When I came to my little island
The singer previously made his way to the small and charming island.

Well I wasn't too certain at first
Initially, the artist was a bit unsure of his decision to venture out to the island.

Far away from my friends
Their friends were located many miles away.

Everyone of us, at some point in our lives, will make a pilgrimage to this place.

When we've conquered our fears
Only after vanquishing anxiety and worry in our lives shall we seek out and appreciate the small pleasures of life.
