They're formed by Miguel Angel Rodriguez 'El Sevilla' (singer), J. Carlos Barja 'Zippy' (Bass), Vidal Barja 'El Puto' (Drums), Vidal Barja Jr. 'Vidalito' (Rythm Guitar), Juan Ramon Artero 'Chicho' (Solo Guitar).
They met in Barcelona and started to make gigs in small music halls. In 1996 after recording their first record, that label decided not to publish it because they thought the songs' lyrics were unsuitable.
When they finally became popular thanks to the radio show hosted by Jose Antonio Abellan and the caustic-humorous magazine 'El Jueves', that record was published. Their producer was Esteve Coll (who is still their producer and their keyboard) and the label Horus guaranteed to publish their first two records.
The first record 'Mojinos Escozios', contained both original songs and covers from popular rock songs, with their lyrics converted to their surrealistic and caustic humour. The record sold 90.000, against any prediction made by the group.
The second record 'Demasiao perro pa trabaja, demasiao carvo par rocanro'(too lazy to work, too bald for rock'n'roll, a reference to Jethro Tull's 'Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young To Die!') became a double platinum record selling 200.000 copies. The main single was 'chow chow', a song with subtle references of a man having sex with his neighbour hid by lyrics about a dog ('chow chow' can be pronounced 'chocho', which means 'cunt'). From this record, they start to sing on various rock music festivals and their success increases.
In 2001 they publish their third record, first with label 'DRO': 'En un cortijo grande, el que es tonto se muere de hambre' (In a big farm, if you're dumb you'll starve to death). They give pure rock'n'roll the cold shoulder and start to experimented with more electronic sounds and with an increased subrealism in their lyrics. Altough some fans were dissapointed by their change of style, the record still sold 150.000 copies.
Their discography includes:
Diez años escozios (2006)
Con cuernos y a lo loco (2005)

Mas de 8 millones de discos vendidos (2002)

The lyrics of "Tatuaje" by Mojinos Escozios narrate a humorous story of the singer and his friend Ugenio, who are drinking beer in a bar in Seville in 1990. Due to the extreme heat, a man takes off his shirt, revealing a heavily tattooed chest. When asked where he got his tattoos, he replies that he got them in the middle of La Rambla in Barcelona from a Chinese tattoo artist. The singer decides to get a tattoo on his right arm, but if it is too big, he will put some on his chest too. He plans to get a heart inscribed with "AMOR DE MADRE" (mother's love) and "PEPI TE QUIERO" (I love you, Pepi), a reference to a person he loves. He also plans to get "ESTE BRAZO ES DE UNO QUE HIZO LA MILI EN LA LEGIÓN" (this arm belongs to someone who did military service in the Legion) and a tattoo of Camarón, a famous flamenco singer.
The lyrics are full of colloquial and humorous language, showcasing the band's characteristic style of satire and irony. The song's melody and rhythm are inspired by traditional Spanish music, specifically flamenco, with elements of rock and punk. The song can be interpreted as a commentary on the trend of getting tattoos and the impulsiveness and recklessness of young people.
