This is the best arrangment of the song I've ever heard. Thanks for the transfer and those wonderful sing-along cards.

great sound.I just read that it was the first theme song written for a movie.I had always thought that it was a translation.I like the singer Gene Austin of whom I had never heard.

Although this was not the first film for which a theme song was written, the Gilbert-Wayne song was written in tandem with the film's production, and was incorporated into the pre-recorded synchronized soundtrack by United Artists. The two "Brunswick Hour" recordings led by William Wirges (a conductor, not one of the song's composers) are taken at an exceptionally fast tempo, so much so that Frank Munn hardly has time to catch a breath between phrases. The best-selling recording of the song was Gene Austin's for Victor, which is played and sung at a leisurely pace. So were the two recordings (one in English, another in Spanish) made by co-star Dolores Del Rio in Victor's Hollywood studios.
