all is loneliness here for me
loneliness here for me...
loneliness

Overall Meaning

Moondog's song All Is Loneliness expresses a sense of alienation and detachment from the world. The repeated phrase 'loneliness here for me' conveys a feeling of isolation, suggesting a state of mind that is separate from a collective consciousness. The use of the word 'all' also suggests complete and total loneliness, conveying a feeling of despair and isolation that seems insurmountable.

The song's simple, repetitive structure and melancholic melody underscore the song's sense of loneliness. Moondog's haunting use of instrumentation, including sparse percussion and a soulful saxophone, further adds to the song's feeling of desolation. The song could be interpreted as a reflection of Moondog's own personal struggles with loneliness, but it also has a universal quality that speaks to anyone who has ever felt disconnected from the world around them.

@Emmie04

I saw him once when I was 12 years old.  I was walking with my grandmother in mid-town Manhattan and she said, "Oh, look, there's Moondog."  She said it so normal and matter-of-factly.  I was amazed and bewildered to see a man in Viking garb and a long beard standing there not saying a word to anyone.  That's one indelible memory I shant ever forget!

I knew him personally from myfather when I was a child. amazing to hear that from you in the sense that there is so much time in between.

@air_onemoney2453

Muck2014 what was he like? Was he cool?

@eelnai2503

That's pretty fucking cool.

@@air_onemoney2453 I liked him alot. He lived in Germany and visited my father quite often. I always was afraid for him because of his blindness and because I didn't understand how well he manged his life himself. I couldn't speak english at that time so Ilona had to translate. I was a child back then. He once said that I have good rhythm and that I should become a musician. I didn't understand his music well at the time but I started to like later on in my adolescence and early adulthood.
