Will it really come?
And if it does come
Will I still be human?
All I ask of you is one thing that you never do
Would you put your arms around me?
(I won't tell anyone)
Does it have to come?
All I ask of you is one thing that you'll never do
Would you put your arms around me?
(I won't tell anybody)
Tomorrow
And what must come before...
Oh, the pain in my arms
Oh, the pain in my legs
Ooh, my shiftless body
Tomorrow
It's surely nearer now?
You don't think I'll make it
I never said I wanted to!
Well did I?
Oh, the pain in my arms
Oh, the pain in my legs
Oh, yeah; oh, yeah
No, yeah; no, yeah
Through my shiftless body
Tomorrow
Tomorrow
All I ask of you...oh...
Is : would you tell me that you love me
Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me that you love me!
Ah, I know you don't mean it
Ah, I know you don't mean it
Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me, tell me that you love me
Tell me, oh, tell me, oh
Tell me, oh, tell me, oh, tell me, oh
Tell me, oh, tell me, oh
The song "Tomorrow" by Morrissey is a poignant and introspective exploration of mortality and human connection. The song begins by contemplating the inevitability of tomorrow - will it really come, and if it does, will the singer still be human? This sets the tone for the rest of the song, as Morrissey grapples with the idea of his own mortality and reflects on the pain and frailty of the human body.
The chorus of the song is a call for human connection and intimacy, as Morrissey asks the listener to put their arms around him. He repeats this request in the final verse, asking that the listener tell him that they love him. However, the repetition of the phrase "I know you don't mean it" suggests that Morrissey is grappling with feelings of loneliness and isolation, even as he longs for human connection.
Overall, "Tomorrow" is a deeply introspective and emotional song that explores themes of mortality, human connection, and the pain and frailty of the human body.

As a teenage guitarist, I remember seeing this video and wishing I could join this gang and wander around Europe slightly aloof behind Morrissey...
@Idolikethis
Lucky you. I'm a morrissey/smith's fan, and I JUST found this video at 35yrs
@ShaunSweeney71
Johnny Marr was an amazing guitarist and musician. But without a doubt Morrissey was the backbone of the Smiths, his song writing was and still is elite.
@Grace-kh5hx
I still want to do this as an adult lol. Also, happy birthday to Morrissey 🖤
