But I'm really not used to this
It's all new and
Old habits die hard I guess
This is usually the part where
Someone tells me
They don't want me around
Make me feel like my feelings matter
It's gonna hurt but not as much as the feeling that
Time is running out
Wake another day and put the past behind you
Tell me to forget it but I'm not inclined to
Pray nobody ever has to feel like I do
But at least we didn't ever leave the truth unspoken
Petty consolation, leave the future open
What's it gonna take for me to not be broken
Sorry that I'm like this
I'm just waiting for the trauma response to hit
Didn't mean to make this your problem
You didn't sign up for the things it comes with
Sorry that I'm like this
The least I can do is stay silent
Fade into the background
'Til you decide if you want me around
In Mr.Kitty's song "Trauma," the lyrics delve into the artist's personal struggles with trauma and their fear of rejection. The opening lines, "Sorry I keep flinching, But I'm really not used to this," convey a sense of vulnerability and unease. The artist acknowledges that they have developed coping mechanisms in response to their past experiences, and these old habits are hard to break.
The lyrics also touch on the fear of being unwanted or abandoned. The line, "This is usually the part where someone tells me they don't want me around," suggests a pattern of rejection that the artist has encountered in their relationships. However, they find solace in the fact that the person they are addressing in the song breaks this pattern and makes them feel valued. The line, "Leave it to you to break the pattern, Make me feel like my feelings matter," highlights the significance of this individual's presence in their life.
Additionally, the lyrics explore the internal struggle of healing from past trauma and the passage of time. The line, "It's gonna hurt but not as much as the feeling that time is running out," implies that the pain of healing is less daunting than the fear of time slipping away. The artist expresses a desire to put the past behind and move forward, but also acknowledges the lasting impact that trauma has had on their emotional state.
Overall, "Trauma" captures the complexity of dealing with personal trauma, the longing for understanding and acceptance, and the continuous battle to heal and move forward.

I saw a man and I thought he had my face I heard a preacher and I thought he had my voice
Up on a train since the moment I opened my eyes sometimes I'm sure I've seen this place again but deep in my Heart there's some courage and some hope and certainty that these rails will never end
Feels that I'm growing but this world is getting small
I cannot take it anymore
Well here I stand in the center of the scene with all the lights pointing right in my head
But in the dark there's a man that can't be seen holding a gun with all the power of his hand
The show is over and the applause pricks my ear the hall is empty and the man is getting bigger
He closes his eyes but serenity is gone he laughs at me and at once he pulls the trigger
Feels that I'm growing but this world is getting small
I cannot take it anymore
Now as I lay dead upon the floor I know my name will never be forgotten
I see that train getting lost inside the smoke and my body being fresh instead of rotten
Feels that I'm growing but this world is getting small
I cannot take it anymore
