Sana da benim gibi çektiren mi var
Görüyorumki hergün meyhanedesin
Yaşamaya küstürüp içtiren mi var
Bir zamanlar bende deli gibi sevdim)
O bana dert, ben ona mutluluk verdim) nakarat
Yıllardır soruyorum bu soruyu kendime)
Katlanmayı bilmeyen aşkı çekemez
Aşka mahkum edilen garip gülemez
Ben de yanmışım, senin gibi arkadaş
Dünyanın derdi bitmez, böyle arkadaş
These lyrics are from the song "Deli Gibi Sevdim" by Muazzez Ersoy. The opening line talks about how the singer's friend's hair has turned white and wonders if someone has caused them as much pain as the singer has endured. It is clear that the friend has turned to drinking and that their desire to live has diminished. The singer, in the chorus, talks about how they too were once in love, madly so, and that they gave happiness to their beloved but it caused them pain. The singer is left asking themselves why they were even born.
The following lyrics talk about how love is not meant for those who cannot endure the pain it brings. The singer then mentions that they, like their friend, have also suffered because the troubles of the world never ends. This song is a tribute to the pain of love and how it can sometimes cause one to lose sight of everything else in the world. The lyrics also show that people cope with this pain in different ways, with some turning to drink to forget.
