God
N.R.A. Lyrics

How lucky I am
From where I stand
You are A blessin’
Amazed that I can see God
Inside of man
You come from Heaven
Your smile lights up my skies
You were designed for my existence and
I now realize
God is alive
In you he’s livin’
Because I’ll wake up in the morning
And I’ll see his face
Know His love is alive
Through your warm embrace
Touch my soul what is old
Will pass away and
Become new
So I hope you find God in me
The way I see God in you
As long as there is love
Right between us
Nothing can separates us
With strength from Him above
Lifting us up
Nothing will break us
Our light will show us the way
As we trust and pray
Even in darkness
We’ll put our love on display
When they ask we say
God is the artist
Because I’ll wake up in the morning
And I’ll see his face
Know His love is alive
Through your warm embrace
Touch my soul what is old
Will pass away and
Become new
So I hope you find God in me
The way I see God in you
I’ll stay forever in this place of love
Touching you I’ve grazed The Face of God
Let us rise like the angels
To our place in the heavens
Into eternity
Because I’ll wake up in the morning
And I’ll see his face
Know His love is alive
Through your warm embrace
Touch my soul what is old
Will pass away and
Become new

So I hope you find God in me
The way I see God in you

EdenSphinxTV, lol what? Do you even know what logic means? Because your comment is utterly devoid of it. It's so ridiculous, I don't even know where to begin. I can't believe I have to explain this...

1. We are no longer under threat of a land invasion and haven't been for well over a century. That premise is so preposterous, it's not even funny. The American mainland will never be attacked by land again. Ever. It would be suicide for any country to attempt it. And, even if it somehow happened, (which it wouldn't), we now have a massive army that would defend us.

2. You make it sound like the Revolutionary war was won by average citizens bringing their personal gun from home and randomly joining the fight. That assessment could not be further from the truth. Not only were voluntary enlistments less than 1% of the populace, but regardless of voluntarily joining or being conscripted, the vast, vast majority of soldiers were issued a gun by the government or their local militia. They didn't need to bring their own. Again, ridiculous premise.

3. As Ben stated, the military weaponry of the day was predominantly incredibly slow, inaccurate muskets and a few rifles, which were still only accurate up to about 200 yards ( maybe 300 in extremely experienced hands), and still required reloading after every shot, allowing, at most, 2-3 shots per minute. Today's AR-15 can fire 45-90 rounds per minute (depending on the skill of the shooter) and with a legal bump stock, that number can increase to 500-600+ rounds per minute, which is insane.

--Just as there is no need for a citizen to own a rocket launcher, there is no need for citizens today to own a military-style assault weapon capable of ripping apart dozens of human beings in just a few minutes. The only people who are supporting them are those who stand to profit from their sale (NRA/Gun-Manufacturers), and those who desire to 'play' with them (gun "enthusiasts").
--I don't believe that once again making AR-15's illegal will solve mass shootings, but all the evidence we have from here at home, and in other countries, tells us that without incredibly deadly semi-automatic, military-style weapons, there will be fewer mass shootings, and if a mass shooting does take place, less people will be killed.
--Why isn't that worth trying? If even one innocent child's life can be saved, I think that's more than worth the sacrifice. Gun enthusiasts can still have all the handguns/shotguns/hunting-rifles they want...just not mass killing machines. Why is that so unreasonable?

The sheer brazenness of the man leaves me speechless. So I'll just quote a verse from Leonard Cohen's song Anthem:

"I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
And they're going to hear from me"

I hope the killers in high places of the NRA have summoned up that thundercloud and that their bought -and-paid-for politicians are finally going to hear from Americans at the polls, in a way they can't ignore or dismiss with pious thoughts and prayers.

But it'll only happen if Americans vow to 'unelect' any pol who takes NRA money, regardless of how 'moderate' they claim to be on gun control at election time. During the heyday of the British empire, any recruit in the British Army who protested the awful things he was ordered to do to the natives was told brutally "If ye took the king's shilling, ye must do the king's bidding!" Those politicians get this. Do the American people?

The right to survive. As long as surviving doesn't involve having access to food, water, shelter or affordable health care. Those are the "privileges" to survive.

At some point in time something went seriously wrong in the US.

It all happened in 1871. Try reading information on the Act of 1871.

Natural rights is simple nonsense: natural and imprescriptible rights, rhetorical nonsense — nonsense upon stilts. But this rhetorical nonsense ends in the old strain of mischievous nonsense for immediately a list of these pretended natural rights is given, and those are so expressed as to present to view legal rights. And of these rights, whatever they are, there is not, it seems, any one of which any government can, upon any occasion whatever, abrogate the smallest particle. - Jeremy Bentham

Roelof van der Merwe it is so sad - something has gone seriously wrong with all of us like me - who see it happening but do nothing about it - how did we ever let Guns and the NRA control us? I pray this younger generation does something that none of us had any courage to do - fight this huge organization and bring them down

Leif Harmsen

"The right to survive." How ironic.

I mean, at least the past presidents just sat down and said "Look, they keep throwing too much money at these people you elected. I can't stop it, but I won't help it." Even Bush Jr wasn't that crazy. Trump? "Fuck it, give EVERYONE guns. Even if we can't afford it and that makes it easier for shootings to happen." And misfires. Collateral. Stolen guns. Suicide-by-cop (or Teacher in this case.) And so on.

NRA: "There is no greater liberty in life than the ability to take the lives of others."
That's basically what they're saying, right?

Trump isn't any more of a moron than past presidents we've had. And were do you get the impression Lincoln and Jefferson etc. were agnostic? How do we know? And the country was not just founded on secular beliefs. Separation of church and state, so one religion did not have the upper hand in laws of government. One nation under God. Not Mormon, Baptist,Muslim,Judaism,Protestant, etc. In this country you worship how you want. Thats what separation of church and state is. You don't worship how the government says. Worship the devil for all I care. Just so the government doesn't force me to.
