Since it's release in early January, NLE Choppa's "Shotta Flow" video has amassed more than 12 million views in nearly six weeks. The visual for his breakout record shows a precocious youth who is just as adept at dancing as he is at swinging choppas.
His flows and stylistic choices recall his friend and fellow hometown rapper BlocBoy JB. Yet Choppa is unique. His intensity, voice and dark sense of humor set him apart from the fray. His follow-up record, "Shotta Flow 2," is approaching 2 million views in under a week.
Always business-savvy, Choppa turned down a $3 million dollar deal and opted for a partnership with UnitedMasters, a company that distributes his music while allowing him to keep his masters. With an EP coming in the spring and more videos on the way, the young artist's name is everywhere, even catching the attention of legendary rap mogul Birdman, who he's been spotted sharing studio time with.

I used to ride for you, foot on the throttle
Now that I'm gone, your life is hollow
You ain't gon' love me tomorrow
I hope that feels, I hope that feels-
I was your pistol, you was my holster (holster)
I was your lungs, bitch you was a smoker (smoker)
You was my house but he was the owner (owner)
Rent you out, I came over (over)
You was my drug, but now I'm sober (I'm sober)
You be the gun, I be the soldier (soldier)
When you cry, I'm your shoulder (shoulder)
If you die, I die too
Keep that hammer, I'm your tool (your tool)
Can I float in your pool (your pool)
One more time before you move on?
I know I did wrong
Can I be your coupon?
Can you save me from my wrongs?
Never thought that you'd be gone
No more heartfelt conversations (no)
Was the love real? Contemplating (oh)
Reality I'm facing, aching (no)
Took my heart, now I need a replacement
Ayy
Ayy, shot, shot, shot, shots
I've been drinking a lot (a lot), tryna stop thinking
About when we was linking, when we was in sync
But now I'm sinking without you
Singing about you, stuck on love
But love don't live here no more
Can't control my (control my), lost my soul (my soul, I)
Can I move on?
Had to move on (to move on)
Eviction note is on my home (home)
Home (home), home (home), home (home)
Home (home), home (home)
To move on, you was my home (home)
Home (home), home (home), home (home)
Home (home), home (home)
Had to say goodbye to my home (ayy)
Used to be in the pit but I copped it (copped it)
All good, but it really turn all bad (all bad)
Like the wintertime, I had to fall back (fall back)
To be real, I ain't even wanna come to that (come to that)
No, there will be no remix
And nowhere for you to visit
Vented, but your ears wouldn't listen (listen)
Tripping on me, but you the one that was tripping (tripping)
Killing me softly, but you ain't gon' kill me (kill me)
Stay strong, stand firm
At your weakest is what I learn (I learn)
At the point of no return, I was the flame, how'd I get burned?
All cool, it's all love, baby (all love)
Will I ever find love? Maybe
I won't hold my breath 'cause I might choke to death
Can you save me?
Can't control my (control my), lost my soul (my soul, I)
Can I move on?
Had to move on (to move on)
Eviction note is on my home (home)
Home (home), home (home), home (home)
Home (home), home (home)
To move on, you was my home (home)
Home (home), home (home), home (home)
Home (home), home (home)
Had to say goodbye to my home (ayy)
In "HOME," NLE Choppa reflects on a past relationship that has come to an end. He starts by acknowledging the changes his former partner is making now that he is no longer in the picture. She is trying to "remodel" her life, but he sees that it is filled with emptiness and lacks the love they once shared. He questions whether she will still love him in the future, knowing deep down that it is unlikely.
The rapper then compares himself to various metaphors, highlighting the roles they played in each other's lives. He was her "pistol," and she was his "holster," implying that they were always together. He was her strength, and she was dependent on him like a smoker needing lungs. But now, he feels used and replaced, as he realizes that she was never truly his, but rather owned by someone else. He regrets his past actions and asks for forgiveness, hoping for a second chance, but deep down knowing that it is too late.
The chorus expresses his struggle to let go of the memories and move on from the place they called "home." He feels lost, his soul is restless, and he questions if he can ever truly move forward. The eviction note symbolizes the end of their relationship, and he says his final goodbye to what was once a cherished space.
Overall, "HOME" captures NLE Choppa's emotional journey of heartbreak, regret, and the struggle to find closure after a significant relationship has ended.
