Devil's Face
NOVA TWINS Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

Jeepers, creepers
Who called the grim reaper
A trick of light, you've lost your mind
You are a little creature

We all have, demons
Some hide
Others seek them
It's you that is in front of you
Are you pleased to meet them

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

Seeing's, believing
You're wide awake and dreaming
Let's not pretend, just look again
You'll see your black eyes bleeding

Deceivers, believers
You're weak or born leaders
Pick or lose, It's up to you
Die or pledge your allegiance (yeah)

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection
The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

The devil's got your face on
Look at your reflection

Overall Meaning

In "Devil's Face," Nova Twins confront the idea of inner demons and the way in which they can manifest externally. The repeated lyric, "the devil's got your face on, look at your reflection," suggests that our own negative tendencies and thoughts can consume us and take over our identity. The song warns against ignoring our inner demons and instead encourages us to confront them head-on.

The lyrics also touch upon the idea of deception and how it can be a powerful tool for those seeking power or control. The lines "deceivers, believers, you're weak or born leaders" suggest that even those who appear powerful may be struggling with their own inner demons, and that true strength comes from acknowledging and facing those demons. In this sense, the song can be interpreted as a call to authenticity and honesty.

I'm so confused. How can this band not be massive? That style, that music, they're highly original too. What is going on in the world???

Ben Goshi

Trust me...
except same rare cases, I believe in the unwritten rule that more a band is unfamous, more is cool!!!

Youtube User

It's just not, good.

I really like them too but I think they have a little too much distortion on the bass which I know doesn't have mass appeal. I actually do wish there was a little less noise in their music because listening to it outside of headphones, especially in the car, causes a lot of extraneous noise. It really only sounds good in headphones. This baseline would sound SOO GREAT as more of a full bass sound with less distortion.

@This way up - they're getting daytime play on BBC Radio One right now, so we will see how much 'mass appeal' it generates.

Personally I live the distortion, the dirtier the better for me! 😂😂

@djlivvy46 That's awesome! Hope it goes well for them. Dirty bass is cool.....but not when it drowns out the rest of the music. Just my opinion though. 😉
