After scoring big in their own country, with such hits as "Endless Conversations", "Movin' On" and "Together", from their debut album '12 TO GO', the boys decided to give the rest of the world a shot.
Their performance at the 2004 TMF awards (where lead singer Niko amused the crowd by stripping on stage and prancing around in a thong) caused Avril Lavigne to ask them to open for her on her Japan tour.
The band's influences include the bands Mest, Goldfinger, New Found Glory, Homegrown, MXPX and Green Day.
At the end of September '05, the band took part in MTV's Road Rally, in which they had to cross the USA from West coast to East Coast, earning their way and scoring shows. After starting in Los Angeles they ended up just beating Dutch competitor Di-rect in New York. When the serie was aired from November to January, it was a great hit.
The second Nailpin album "White Lies & Butterflies" was released in april 2006, while the band toured Japan for the second time.
Their newest album 'III' was released in april 2008, and got great reviews. The singles 'The Ending' and 'It's Allright' did good in the charts.

This rope still tied you down
To a world that kept you bound,
The same where I want you around
Why can't it just be like before
That's all I ask for nothing more
'Cause he took a shortcut where I can't follow him
I won't be able, to catch him anymore
Still I'm wasting my time while I sit here trying to figure...
Deep down we all expected that call,
'Cause we knew that you've suffered too long
I'm so sorry that you're gone,
But regrets won't fix that neither songs
Why can't it be just like before
That's all I ask for nothing more
'Cause she took a shortcut where I can't follow her
And now she's left me here on my own
I won't be able, to catch her anymore
Still I'm wasting my time while I sit here trying to figure...
'Cause they took a shortcut where I can't follow them
And now they left me here on my own
I won't be able, to catch them anymore
Still I'm wasting my time while I sit here trying to figure
Where we went wrong
The lyrics of Nailpin's song "Shortcut" convey a strong sense of loss and regret. The song seems to be about the suicide of a loved one or someone close to the singer. The first verse speaks to the desperation and hopelessness that often precedes such an act, with the reference to the "chair" and "rope" suggesting the means by which the person took their own life. The singer wishes that things could go back to how they were before, but they know that this can never be.
In the chorus, the singer acknowledges the finality of death and the fact that they can no longer follow the person who has died. This is a common sentiment among those who have lost someone to suicide; there is often a sense of helplessness and an inability to understand why the person chose to end their life. The second verse speaks to this sense of confusion and regret, with the line "regrets won't fix that neither songs" suggesting that the singer wishes they could go back and change things, but knows that it's too late.
