The lyrics to Najwa Karam's song "Ana Meen" reflect a deep sense of attachment and belonging between the singer and her loved one. The repeated question "Ana Meen" translates to "Who am I?" and is followed by the answer "You are me." This powerful declaration of identity suggests that the singer sees herself as an extension of her partner, physically and emotionally. This is reinforced by the line "I am from your rib," drawing a parallel to the biblical story of Eve being created from Adam's rib.
The chorus reinforces this theme of unity, with the lines "If my heart stops beating, it's not out of fear / I can live without a heart, because you are my second heart." This implies that the singer's partner is not just her emotional center, but also her literal survival mechanism, without whom she cannot function.
The second verse continues to emphasize the singer's devotion to her partner, stating that she is like him in every way. The song concludes with a repetition of the chorus, driving home the message of the depth of the singer's attachment to her loved one.
