Ajram was born on May 16th, 1983 to Nabil Ajram and Rimonda Oun, as the eldest of two siblings, Nadine Nariman Ajram and Nabil Ajram Jr. She started singing at the age of eight, when she appeared for the first time in 1991 at a singing contest for kids on national television in Lebanon. In 1995, at the age of twelve, Nancy Ajram took part in the entertainment show, Noujoum Al-Moustakbal, ("Stars of the Future"), a Lebanese television musical competition, winning a gold medal in the Tarab category after singing a song by Umm Kulthum.
Ajram studied music following her early success with renowned Lebanese musicians and although she was less than 18 years old, the syndicate of professional artists in Lebanon accepted her as a member because they found her to be an exceptional talent and deserved to be qualified as a professional artist. Shortly afterwards Nancy released her first album, Mihtagalak ("I Need You') in 1998, with most of its songs holding a pure Tarab style, thus starting her music career at the age of 15. It was followed by Sheel Oyoonak Anni ("Take Your Eyes Off Of Me") in 2000, which achieved more success.

The song "Mila" is a beautiful tribute to a child, expressing a mother's unconditional love and the ways in which being a mother has changed her life. The lyrics are sung from the perspective of the mother, who realizes that since her child was born, her heart and her life have been forever changed. The first verse describes how the mother used to sing without feeling, but since her child's birth, she sings with her heart. She also says that she has lost her heart to her child, as she loves and cares for her more than anything else in the world.
The chorus of the song is a repetition of a simple yet heartfelt phrase, "roh el mama ya albi el mama", which means "go, my mother, my heart, my life." Here, the mother is telling her child to go and live her life, but to always remember that her mother will be there to support her and love her. The chorus shows the depth of love that a mother has for her child, as she considers her child to be the center of her universe.
In the second verse, the mother sings about the fear and worry that comes with being a parent, as she watched her child sleep in a small bed and hoped that she would grow up healthy and strong. She also talks about the idea of finding a soulmate, but realizing that the love she feels for her child is the greatest love of all. The second chorus is sung with the same emotion as the first, emphasizing the love and importance of her child in her life.
Overall, "Mila" is a touching song that showcases the unique love that exists between a mother and her child. It is a song that celebrates motherhood, and the way in which children can completely change a person's life.
