Né en 98 dans le nord de la France, Nannup se taille très vite une solide réputation de groupe de scène. Le premier album en poche, le groupe qui tire son nom d'un village Australien signifiant "lieu de repos près de l'eau" multiplie les concerts en France et en Europe. Kangourou géant qui déboule sur scène, humour décapant, rock rentre-dedans, lâcher de peluches, le public est de plus en plus nombreux et Nannup prend du galon, avec notamment un passage remarqué sur M6 et M6 Music. Eté 2005, Nannup déménage à Toulouse. Ils sont alors rejoints par J-D à la basse pour plus de puissance car Phil double ainsi les guitares. Rien de tel pour le gros son "rock-garage-punk-powerpop" revendiqué par le groupe, qui tire ses influences des Foo Fighters, Placebo, Switchfoot, et autres Nadasurf. La retour de Stephane vers le nord pour raisons professionnelles (snif) conduira au dernier changement dans le line-up, puisque Yannick Berbié prend les baguettes en juillet 2006. Nannup est plus prêt que jamais à mettre le feu !
Born some 8 years ago in the north of France, Nannup was soon a curiosity with some crazy shows mixing loud rock and humour. With their first album recorded in 1999, the band who takes its name from a little West-Australian village meaning 'A meeting place by the river' was ready to tour all over Europe. With their giant kangaroo rushing onstage, good modern rock tunes and meaningful lyrics, their fans became more and more numerous and Nannup delivered amazing shows as well as some remarked TV appearances. Summer 05, Nannup moves down south to Toulouse, where J-D joins them with the bass for a more powerful sound since Phil can then double the guitars. How sweet for the big garage-punk-powerpop sound which they like to develop, influenced by the likes of FooFighters, Nadasurf, Placebo and other Switchfoot. Stephane eventually has to move back north, which will lead to the ultimate line-up change, with Yannick Berbie (drums) joining the band in 2006. Nannup is ready to rock, more than ever !
