04:18 the last voice - saying 'hello from the childen of planet earth' is Carl Sagan's son Nick (age 6 at the time of recording)
the entire project was given to Carl Sagan almost as an afterthought, with only 6 weeks before it had to be completed, to record 25 of the worlds most used languages, and have everyone available to record them at the same time, on the same day. so it was a hell of a feat that he managed to assemble 55 instead of the initial 25 requested, even so he regretted the omission of languages like Swahili, now if i asked you to assemble 55 different language speakers at one place at 10am - 6 weeks from today..could you do it? ..oh and you cant use the internet or a cell-phone.
@AlexRN
You deserve more likes. Do you have a link to this story? Sounds fascinating.
Did Carl Sagan also record the rest of the golden disc’s content like the sounds of rain, animals, and machines as well?
@richardodonoghue
@@AlexRN https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/golden-record/ short answer ..yes but not necessarily carl personally as he was just the chairman of the project and ultimately selected the content...sounds, music,pictures, and the greetings, he was however solely in charge of the greetings. here is a link to nick sagan later recounting the story of his involvement

@LiberalsGettheBulletToo
Considering he was a CIA agent with NASA resources at his disposal, seems fairly do-able.
@cdulez
I probably could now that i think about it.
@Naryama
You right

0:32 the arabic greeting is one of the best in my opinion, the aproximate translation is : "greeting to our friends among the stars,hopefully times will bring us together"

Unfortunately they didn't add my language kurdish I guess there is no person care about us 😔😔😢
@grapheur1670
dont worry,we care about our kurdish brothers,there is just too much languages in the world to fit in the Voyager Golden Record and not enough time to record evry languages.
