I've been living a lonely life,
I've been sleeping here instead,
I've been sleeping in my bed,
sleeping in my bed.
so show me family,
all the blood that I would bleed,I don't know where I belong,
I don't know where I went wrong, but I can wright a I've been trying to do it right,
I've been living a lonely life,
I've been sleeping here insted,
I've been sleeping in my bed,
Sleeping in my bed.
So show me family,
On the blood that I will bleed,
I don't know where I belong,
I don't know where I went wrong,
But I know I could write a song.
I belong with you you belong with me,
You're my sweetheart,
I belong with you you belong with me,
You're my sweetheart.
I don't think you're right for him,
Look at what it might have been,
If you took a bus to Chinatown,
I'd be standing on Canal,
And a Bowery.
She'd be standing next to me.
I belong with you, you belong with me,
I belong with you, you belong with me,
You're my sweetheart.
Love we need it now, lets hope for some,
We're bleeding out.
I belong with you, you belong with me,
You're my sweetheart,
I belong with you, you belong with me,
You're my sweetheart...
In Nathan Carter's song Ho Hey, the lyrics reveal a sense of longing to belong to something or to someone. The opening lines, "I've been trying to do it right, I've been living a lonely life, I've been sleeping here instead, I've been sleeping in my bed", imply the singer's struggle to find the right path in life and the accompanying loneliness. He seems to be searching for a family or a community he can call his own, and the next lines, "So show me family, all the blood that I would bleed, I don't know where I belong, I don't know where I went wrong, but I can write a song", express his desire to connect with others and his willingness to give of himself.
