Even just writing it down to describe how this part specifically makes me feel brings tears to my eyes. Everyday it feels like no one knows me until they read my writing, and when they do they think it is for their entertainment, and when it doesn't cater to their tastes, or they act like they understand, or think my words are a double-edged sword, or evil and wicked... when really it is my soul and everything I have been keeping within, fighting so desperately to keep it hidden away, because my brokenness is in my poems, and my everything is in my written words.
I cling so tightly to the affirmations and acceptance of others that I give my all to please people, and I am never pleased in myself because on one hand, I want to be myself, and write whatever my heart and fingers, who communicate with each other so discreetly that it is a surprise even to me when I look back; but on the other hand, I have been ignored because I do not assert myself, and I want people to finally see my efforts. And I want my mother to put down the bottle and really look at me, and I want my father to understand I'm not writing my book to publish because he has something to say, or a message to the world he wants to put out there.
I'm really going to write for myself from now on. I say it all the time, but Nathan, your music has helped me so much that even in my sorrow I can't help but to open YouTube and search for your masterpieces, and this one specifically. I am glad I am learning such a lesson so early in life and through your music, and you may never truly know your greatest impact, and exactly how much you mean to people you may very well never meet. I love music. It expressed the beauty of what I have forever wanted to say when I bite my tongue. Your music is unlike any other, and I'm not saying this to win approval, because I don't really want to see you as my idol, and I don't want to put you on a pedestal. I just want you to know I see you as someone who has been through it, and you want to share what you became out of it because you care for people immensely.

“Keep Breathing” will be available on all streaming platforms within the next few days. Just finished it this morning but really wanted to get it out there! I wrote a couple songs while trying to capture “Hope’s” concept. This was one of them. I know it’s probably not the smartest to release two songs of the same concept back to back, but I figured I’d do it anyways. Hope you like it! Love you all!
