Got a better education and it paid off

It's a tough position that they put me in

Cause I've been struggling with my two children
She had to raise her kids alone, which was a difficult task.

But I'll continue looking for a job again
She remains determined to find work despite the setbacks.

My faith in my religion now will never bend
Her belief is unshakable, and she will not compromise her religious practices.

Peer pressure, they were insisting
She faced pressure from others to follow their lifestyle choices.

And I was resisting
She refused to give in to their demands or compromise her values.

Some days I felt I would give in
She experienced moments of weakness when she considered conforming to their expectations.

Just wanted to fit in
She felt the desire to be accepted by her peers.

I know when I'm praying and fasting'
She recognized that her religious practices set her apart from others.

They be teasing and laughing
Others would ridicule and mock her for her differences.

So I called to my Lord for the power
She sought strength and support from God to overcome her challenges.

For the strength every day, every hour…
She wished to be empowered by her faith at all times, constantly.

Then one day there's a new Muslim teacher
She found inspiration in a teacher who was also Muslim.

Single mom and the people respect her
She admired the teacher for being a mother with the respect of her community.

Just seeing her strength I get stronger
The teacher's strength motivated her to work harder towards her goals.

They can break my will no longer
Others cannot influence or control her beliefs anymore.

You don't see me sweating when they're jokes're cracking
She remains composed and does not show her distress when others mock her.

Never see me cussing' with my pants saggin'
She does not engage in inappropriate or disrespectful behavior like others might.

I ain't never running yo I'm still standing
She will not back down or flee from those who challenge her beliefs.

I ride with Allah to the very end
She is faithful to God and will follow Islam until the end of her life.

Now, I'm a tough one, who can bear their blows
She is strong enough to withstand any criticism or opposition from others.

The rest play dumb, they don't dare say no
Others conform to the pressure and do not challenge the norms.

Scared of being shunned, but its clear they know
They fear rejection for standing out, but they understand the situation clearly.

I ain't never gonna run, I ain't scared no more.
She will not compromise her principles or be afraid to face opposition.

Man, these sisters be resolute
Women following Islam are strong-willed and committed to their faith.

Never stressed when the rest say they wasn't cute
Other people's opinions about their physical appearance do not bother them.

And they get the respect of the other youth
Younger people look up to these Muslim women and admire their confidence and strength.

Come best with the dress yo and that's the truth
Their modest clothing sets a good example for others to follow, and they adhere to the customs of their religion.

These sisters are strong gonna hand it down
These women are strong and will pass down their faith and beliefs to future generations.

So me I'm a brotha gotta stand my ground
He states that he is also committed to standing up for his beliefs and will not be swayed by others' opinions or pressure.

I ain't gonna shudder, when the gangs around
He will not be afraid or intimidated by gang members or other hostile groups.

Peer pressure whatever, its my planet now

Others may fall, I'mma hold my own
Others may give in to the pressure, but he will stand strong and independent.

With Allah's help, I'll be strong as stone
He knows that God's support will give him the courage and strength he needs to succeed and persevere.

He will be brave and proud to showcase his faith, Islam.
