Gidelum yali yali
Sirtindaki sepetun
Ben olayım hamali
Sepetunun ipleri
Keseyi omuzuni
Aç beyaz peştemali
Menşure deduklari
Kıs sen misun sen misun
Alemun dilindesun
O kadar güzelmisun
Eydum Finduk dalini
Gel teşure teşure
Aduni bilmeyirum
Adun olun Menşure
Funduk toplamak için
Eydum funduk dalini
Ben acirum acirum
Menşure'nin halini
Bize gölge edeyi
Funduğun yapraklari
Kız sana haram olsun
Çayeli topraklari
The lyrics of Neşe Karaböcek's "Yali Yali" tell the story of a man who is carrying a basket on his back and walking through the countryside. He is heading towards a place called Yali Yali, which is beyond Çayeli. He claims that he would like to be the porter carrying the basket on his back rather than the one using it. The song mentions the details of the man's journey, such as the ropes of the basket that are cutting into his shoulder and the white satin cloth that he is wearing.
The lyrics also touch on the subject of a woman named Menşure, whom the singer is admiring. He hears people speaking about her and how beautiful she is. He then talks about gathering hazelnuts and how he feels sorry for Menşure. He believes that the shade from the hazelnut leaves would have protected her from the sun. He curses the land of Çayeli for not providing enough shade for Menşure.
Overall, the song "Yali Yali" portrays the daily struggles of people who work as porters in the countryside and the beauty of a woman who is admired by many. It also highlights the importance of nature and the essential role it plays in protecting individuals from the heat of the sun.

Hi, I know it's been 3 years, but maybe you'll see it.
I pulled sail on my ship
when i go to my homeland
pray my love
I'll go and come early
pray my love
I'll go and come early
Let's go beyond the Çayeli slowly (slowly)
Let's go slowly (slowly), let's go slowly
Let me be the carrier of the basket on your back
Let me be the carrier, Let me be the carr...
The ropes of my basket cut my shoulder
it cuts my shoulder, it cuts my shoul...
Open that loincloth, let me see your face
Let me see your face, Let me see your fa...
Green tea gardens from the snowy creek to this side
Green tea gardens, green tea gardens...
Girls with loincloth picking tea sprouts
Loincloth girls, loincloth girl...
Let's go beyond the Çayeli slowly (slowly)
Let's go slowly (slowly), let's go slowly
Let me be the carrier of the basket on your back
Let me be the carrier, Let me be the carr...
This folk song (Türkü) has many stories, but let me share just one.
While walking around the Çayeli mansion, a man sees a girl passing by, with a basket on her back and a white loincloth on her face. He calls out to the girl with a Atma Türkü (improvised ballad).
“Let's go beyond the Çayeli slowly (slowly)”
“Let me be the carrier of the basket on your back”
There is no sound from the girl, her face is not visible because she is covered with a loincloth, then she continues:
“The ropes of my basket cut my shoulder...”
In the end, he puts this momentary event on paper and composes it...
