They are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only family to reach number one record status in three successive generations (beginning with grandparents Ozzie and Harriet Nelson).

Take Me There

That's where my heart is
Don't touch me there
It's way too sore
That it just ain't fair
To take advantage of a crazy fool
Just remember the golden rule
And please don't touch me there
Don't get to close
Don't play that game
And if we pass on the streets
Don't call my name
Don't touch me there
That's where my heart lives
And it just ain't fair
And if you care don't touch me there
Don't touch me there
'Cause I've forgotten
I once loved you and now I don't care
That it just ain't fair
To try and kindle up the fire growing cold
There's nothing here to hold
So please, don't touch me there
Don't get to close
Don't play that game
And if we pass on the streets
Don't call my name
Don't touch me there
That's where my heart lives
And it just ain't fair
And if you care don't touch me there
It just ain't fair
And if you care don't touch me there
The lyrics of Nelson's song "Take Me There" express a sense of emotional vulnerability and pain. The repeated refrain of "Don't touch me there" serves as a plea to avoid touching the singer's heart, which is represented as a sensitive and sore place. The singer acknowledges being a "crazy fool" and acknowledges the need for others to remember the "golden rule" of treating others with care and respect.
The song's lyrics also convey a sense of emotional detachment and a desire to create distance from a past love. The singer advises against getting too close or playing games, suggesting a desire to avoid any further emotional entanglement. The plea to not call their name when passing each other on the streets signifies a need for separation and a desire to move on.
The line "That it just ain't fair, to try and kindle up the fire growing cold" speaks to the futility of trying to reignite a love that has faded. The singer seems resigned to the fact that their love for the other person has waned and doesn't want to be subjected to any attempts to revive it. This sentiment is reinforced by the final plea of not touching them there, emphasizing the need for emotional distance.
Overall, the lyrics of "Take Me There" convey a feeling of emotional pain and a desire for self-preservation, as the singer sets boundaries and asserts their need to guard their heart.
